Solid episode of the spy series
coughingdragon4 February 2008
As the episode begins, we see Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin entering a hotel on the Riviera when they are distracted by a couple of beautiful blond women photographing a vendor. Moments later the man is dead and so starts a struggle between the two agents from U.N.C.L.E and a group of blond Thrush agents for the possession of a formula for a rejuvenating serum. The plot provides a great sandbox for Vaughn and McCallum, and it is their interplay both with each other and the other characters that is the greatest strength of this episode. The story may be a little too campy for those who are not fans of this kind of sixties fare, but those who are fans will enjoy this hour of television.

Excellent episode
bigtrain4516 March 2015
This episode contains excellent footage of one of the all-time classic cars, the Cobra roadster in its racing form. The car is one of the all-time most successful racecars of its type in history, and is seldom seen even in classic TV shows like this. The plot line is sufficiently interesting, with THRUSH working on a miracle drug that can heal anything and is demonstrated early in the show. There are also several beautiful young women in the show, including the tragic Sharon Tate. The action scenes, especially the scene of the racing Cobra, are excellent. Highly recommended for those who like classic cars and classically beautiful women from the mid 60's.

A bit of Fun on the Riviera

Warning: Spoilers
MAN FROM UNCLE - The Girls of Nazarone Affair 1965)

UNCLE agents Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn) and Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum) are sent to the French Riviera to recover a medical formula. The top secret formula is a rejuvenating serum to help speed recovery from wounds. THRUSH agents led by Marian McCargo have gotten their evil little hands on the serum.

McCargo and a string of blonde THRUSH types are not amused when Vaughn and McCallum show up. The THRUSH bunch are hiding out at a clinic ran by French doctor, Ben Wright. He is helping with the tests for the serum. One of the THRUSH women, Danica D'Hondt, is picked as a test subject.

Vaughn and McCallum have an American woman tourist, Kipp Hamilton help them bait a trap to gain entry to the THRUSH lair. Needless to say this backfires and Hamilton and Vaughn are captured. THRUSH boss, Miss Mccargo, after a spot of questioning, decides it is time to move on. That is after disposing of Hamilton and Vaughn as well as taking the serum to THRUSH headquarters.

Agent McCallum manages to make a last minute rescue of the pair. All three pile in a car to give chase to the THRUSH types. THRUSH agent, D' Houndt, ends up dead as the serum works a tad too good. It speeds up the body function to the point that the person burns out and dies. The serum is quite useless.

A nice bit of fun with tongue planted firmly in cheek. Look close and you will see Sharon Tate in an early role. Tate would be one of the victims of the Charles Manson killings in 1969. This is episode 28 of the first season.

You can't do better than this for U.N.C.L.E.

Warning: Spoilers
Deadly femme fatales, plus guest appearances by the gorgeous Sharon Tate and Kathy Kersch, plus an appearance by Ben Wright who famously also appeared in The Sound of Music. Fights with savagely strong women, tied to a pool float that is due to sink, race cars.... It will be very hard to find another TMFU episode that is better than this one.
