In order to secure more funds; Schubert breeds a huge jellyfish he intends to let loose near a beach. Then he's going to blackmail authorities for the sum of 1 million dollars or he's going to let the menace stay in the water.
The worst offender of "Man From Atlantis" so far. Silly story, absurd creature (insanely fake looking and laughable) and an all around unexciting episode. Really not much more to say about this one.
Another thing, though, on Schubert. He meets with the authorities when he's suspected by Mark of causing a mass panic on the beach and he manages to cover his tracks. Isn't this guy at least wanted by the authorities for past crimes? Doesn't the government funded Foundation For Oceanic Research have any pull? He caused the sea levels to rise to dangerous levels, is guilty of at least a dozen kidnappings (from the Pilot episode) and responsible for massive destruction of a government submarine (when he activated the mudworm; perhaps a bit difficult to prove so I'll let it slide - but Mark and his crew know). I know this is a kid-friendly sci-fi/adventure show but a little credibility in this department would be welcomed.
As for "Man O'War" (even a senseless title!); it's by far the weakest entry in a series that's all over the place but usually manages to entertain somewhat in it's offbeat way. Duffy holds his own here and Fudge has a little more screen time; all around decent actor.
