- TriviaThe music Potter is listening to when the Korean boy [played by Jason Autajay and not given a name in the episode], is a song from World War I is called "Roses of Picardy." It features lyrics by Frederick Weatherly and music by Haydn Wood, and was published in London in 1916 by Chappell & Company. It was one of the most famous songs of the First World War.
- GoofsWhen Col. Potter mentions that the brandy had been very smooth in 1917, Winchester remarks that "it should be magnificent now." Distilled spirits only age and mature when they are in the barrel. As long as they are stored properly and remain sealed, once bottled they do not change to any significant degree. Potter's bottle, assuming it remained sealed, would have been much the same in 1952 as it had been in 1917. As a wine and spirit connoisseur, Winchester would know this.

Potter owns this tontine episode
Potter is the last survivor of his World War 1 comrades, and its tontine focused, a pact where he shares the last surviving bottle from that war to end all wars. There's no madcapping in this episode, and Potter's speech is one for the ages.
Jane Connell guest starred as Betty Halpern, who helps out Korean kids. Jason Autajay plays one of the Korean boys who Potter befriends in a tender moment. Sally Imamura plays one of the Korean girls.
