This episode marks the second pairing of Dick Van Patten and Rue McClanahan. They appeared in His Girls Friday/A Wife for Wilfred/The Girl Who Stood Still (1982).
During the scene where George (Dick Van Patten) hits Laura (Rue McClanahan), you can clearly see Van Patten react badly before quickly getting back into character. Either he accidentally hit (not too hard, though) McClanahan for real or he was just disgusted at doing that act as the character he was portraying, period.
This episode features Betty White and Rue McClanahan who later starred together on The Golden Girls (1985).
Cesar Romeo and Fred Willard would each later make a guest appearance on "The Golden Girls" (1985), which co-starred Rue McClanahan and Betty White.
During a conversation with John (Cesar Romero), Aunt Sylvia (Carol Channing) says "No one's ditzier than Betsy." Betty White, who played Betsy, would of course go on to play ditzy Rose in The Golden Girls (1985).
