- The Robot: Dr. Smith has always been a loyal and self-sacrificing member of the Jupiter 2 crew. He is incapable of telling the truth.
- Dr. Zachary Smith: Oh, very good. What did you say?
- The Robot: Imperative that I do not aban...
- Dr. Zachary Smith: [switching off the robot] You're wearing my patience very thin. You will erase that last statement and correct it to read: "Dr. Smith is incapable of telling a lie." Repeat.
- [Smith switches robot back on]
- The Robot: Dr. Smith is incapable.
- Dr. Zachary Smith: "OF TELLING A LIE," you ninny! Finish it!
- Will Robinson: Try something off-beat.
- The Robot: "Off-beat" does not computer.
- Will Robinson: How 'bout "way-out?"
- Dr. Zachary Smith: You and I will never be friends, Major.
- Maj. Don West: That is the first logical assumption you've ever made.
- Will Robinson: [to himself after Prof. Robinson declares he'll destroy the alien matter transfer device in the morning] I don't see why they have to destroy it. It's not doin' THEM any harm. It can do just about anything, maybe even transfer me. I might not get back. Maybe the robot... maybe he could command it to send me to Earth, and maybe I could get back by reversing the signals. Gosh, I could tell 'em we're alive and where we are and everything - at least close enough for them to make a stab at finding us with a rescue ship. I'm not gonna be doin' anything with it, not unless I can figure a way to stop them from burning it.
- Davey Sims: Uh, Aunt Clara, she was talking about having you stay with us. Like... like permanent.
- Will Robinson: Well, whatever she said was wrong. When Alpha Control finds out how you kept me here, I wouldn't be surprised if they put you away for life.
- Will Robinson: Well, I've been on Earth all morning in a little place called Hatfield Four Corners in Vermont. They sure are behind the times there. They wouldn't even let me call Alpha Control to send a rescue ship. They thought I was some kind of nut.
- Maureen Robinson: Oh, Will, I think you'd better watch that imagination of yours or we might all think the same thing.
- Dr. Zachary Smith: Well, I'd like you to explain just what you're doing here.
- The Robot: All systems preempted. Fixed position must be maintained.
- Dr. Zachary Smith: Really? Well, I've got a little work for you that's far more important than experimenting with celery salad or whatever it is that boy's got you doing. Follow me.
- The Robot: Imperative that I do not abandon my station. Repeat. Imperative. At 1200 hours initiate signal to matter-transfer unit to return subject to original form and location.
- Dr. Zachary Smith: Never mind all that nonsense. You're coming with me.
- The Robot: Imperative that I do not abandon my...
- Dr. Zachary Smith: [yanking out Robot's power pack and holding it up] That is a little 'imperative' you didn't bargain for.
- Davey Sims: Why don't you just come over to my house and you can phone your mother from there?
- Will Robinson: My mother's at least ten light years from here. So's the rest of my family.
- Davey Sims: Oh, your "mother's at least ten light years from here." You know, you kids are getting wackier every day.
- Aunt Clara Sims: You must have been very hungry.
- Will Robinson: Not exactly, but we're on short rations on Priplanus on account of something went wrong with the food storage purifier.
- Aunt Clara Sims: Oh, that is a shame.
- Theodore: All right, Jupiter, what's a stellar interferometer?
- Will Robinson: It's an instrument for measuring the diameter of the stars.
- Theodore: All right, how many miles in a parsec?
- Will Robinson: Nineteen million one-hundred and fifty thousand.
- First Boy: Hey, how far is it to Alpha Centauri?
- Will Robinson: 5.3 light years.
- Theodore: Well, he coulda learned all that stuff from a comic book.
- Will Robinson: Except I didn't. And I'll bet you don't even know what a Doppler effect is.
- Theodore: Well, sure I do, it's... it's kind of a rainbow.
- Will Robinson: You call THAT a scientific answer? He got THAT from a comic book.
- Dr. Zachary Smith: Ahh. Now then my dear friend. I should like to hear a brief, but compelling statement on the sterling character of one Zachary Smith.
- The Robot: Does not compute.
- Dr. Zachary Smith: Spare me the editorial comments.
- The Robot: It is now 1142 hours by Earth time.
- [Backs away from Smith]
- Dr. Zachary Smith: Oh, no, you don't. Oh!
- The Robot: [Fires electric bolts near Smith as a warning] Imperative that I do not abandon my station. At 1200 hours, initiate signal to return subject to original form and location.
- Dr. Zachary Smith: You will scrub that and pay attention to me, do you hear?
- [Yelps as Robot fires warning blast again]
- Dr. Zachary Smith: Come back here at once! That's an order.
- [Runs after Robot]
- Dr. Zachary Smith: Come back at once! This is an order!
- Davey Sims: Hey, what'd ya mean when you said "you just got here?" I've been here for a half hour and I didn't see ya - unless you were up there hiding waitin' to dump snow on me.
- Newsman Lacy: I'm going to urge parents to make sure that their children don't take this science-fiction that they've been reading too seriously. It could have mighty serious consequences if a boy really believes that he's from outer space.
- Will Robinson: Will I be able to make my phone call soon?
- Sheriff George Baxendale: Hey, don't you worry, sonny. Where they're gonna take you you'll get to do a lot of things.
