Adam Lamberg: David 'Gordo' Gordon

Quotes

  • Miranda Sanchez : [about Lizzie]  What has gotten into her?

David 'Gordo' Gordon : I don't know, but whatever it is, it's making me all tingly inside.

  • Claire Miller : Lizzie McGuire, my little opponent.

Lizzie McGuire : Hi, Claire. Kate.

    Kate Sanders : Loser!

Claire Miller : I just wanted to let you know how cute it is that you think you actually have a chance against me.

Kate Sanders : Cute in a loser kind of a way.

David 'Gordo' Gordon : Lizzie McGuire's the voice of the people, and there are more of us than there are of you which makes hers the voice of the winner. That's what Lizzie always says.

    Lizzie McGuire : I do?

David 'Gordo' Gordon : You will. It's all in this speech I've written for you.

[Claire puts her hand up in front of Lizzie]

Miranda Sanchez : She's giving you the hand.

Claire Miller : Bottom line, I'm popular and you're not. So I win.

David 'Gordo' Gordon : Don't you remember our phone conversation this morning? You're powerful, you're normal. Go!

Lizzie McGuire : Let me tell you something, Miss Claire Witch Project.

Miranda Sanchez : Oooh. Good one.

Lizzie McGuire : I may not be cheerleader captain and I may not be yearbook editor, and I may not sit in the cool part of the cafeteria. But people want to see change and no, no, no, I'm not talking about your wardrobe.

    [Kate and Claire look shocked]

    Miranda Sanchez : Yeah!

Lizzie McGuire : So laugh all you want to now 'cause by the end of this thing, you'll be crying.

    [alter ego]

Lizzie McGuire : Hey, who was that? Wait, that was me. Not bad. I think.

    [Claire and Kate walk off]

David 'Gordo' Gordon : You're a quick study, Lizzie McGuire.

  • Claire Miller , Kate Sanders : [the scene opens in the school cafeteria, where Kate and Claire are in their cheer-leading uniforms and saying hello to everyone]

    [opening lines]

Claire Miller , Kate Sanders : [in unison]  Hey! Hi! Hello! Nice to meet you!

Lizzie McGuire : [to Miranda, suspicious about Kate and Claire]  OK, something's going on. Claire's being nice to everybody, and Kate's not even stopping her!

Miranda Sanchez : Tell me about it! She *actually* said hi to me this morning!

Claire Miller : [Lizzie gasps in horror as Claire greets the nerds, geeks and outcasts]  Nice to meet you.

Lizzie McGuire : [pointing to Claire greeting the geeks]  She is talking to the *dorkestra*!

Miranda Sanchez : [in horror]  She must've lost a dare!

David 'Gordo' Gordon : [sitting down with Lizzie and Miranda, reporting to them the bad news]  This just in: Claire is running for President.

Lizzie McGuire : [rolling her eyes, in an obvious way, considering Claire is popular]  Uh, no wonder.

Miranda Sanchez : [upset and disappointed]  It's so unfair! Claire's gonna end up our Class President and it's only because she's *popular*!

Lizzie McGuire : The popular kids win *everything*! It's been that way since *kindergarten*; and the rest of us are just doomed!

Miranda Sanchez : [pointing to a table where the school nerd, Larry Tudgeman is eating worms to get votes]  You guys, why is Larry Tudgeman eating *worms*?

David 'Gordo' Gordon : [stating Larry is running as well for President]  Oh, Larry's running too. He said he'd eat one worm for every person who votes for him.

Miranda Sanchez : That's kind of desperate! Not to mention *gross*!

Lizzie McGuire : [feeling sorry for the worms]  And very unfair to those worms!

David 'Gordo' Gordon : [rolling his eyes]  Great choice. Claire or Tudgeman? Why doesn't anyone normal run?

[pointing out to Lizzie, Miranda and himself]

David 'Gordo' Gordon : Like us?

Miranda Sanchez : [in shock]  One of us run? Are you feeling okay?

David 'Gordo' Gordon : It could work. We're not popular; but we don't need to be. We're the Normals. Look, there are more of us than are of them. If we could just get everyone to vote for a normal candidate, we could win.

Miranda Sanchez : [Miranda thinks about it carefully]  You think?

Lizzie McGuire : [Lizzie thinks about it carefully, then her animated alter-ego comes to her brain, dressed as a pirate]  Yeah! Let's over-throw the ruling powers!

David 'Gordo' Gordon : [announcing Lizzie's nomination]  Which is why I nominate you: Lizzie McGuire!

    [Lizzie and Miranda are shocked]

    Lizzie McGuire : Me?

Miranda Sanchez : [seconding Gordo's nomination]  He's right. You're, like, so totally normal!

    [Lizzie thinks, "Figures!"]

    Miranda Sanchez : That's a good thing.

Lizzie McGuire : [scoffs]  You guys are joking! I am *not*!

    [pause]

    Lizzie McGuire : Am I?

David 'Gordo' Gordon : You have what it takes! You're one of the Normals!

    [nodding]

David 'Gordo' Gordon : You could be our Class President!

Miranda Sanchez : [looking at Lizzie with ambition]  You could be... The Voice of the People!

[Lizzie daydreams about herself on the Monument of Presidents]

Lizzie McGuire : OK. I'll do it! I will run for Class President!

[Gordo and Miranda smile at Lizzie, in admiration]

Lizzie McGuire : [her animated alter-ego then enters her brain on top of the Presidential Monument, crumbling]  I don't have a good feeling about this!

[her alter ego crumbles on the Monument then cracks]

  • David 'Gordo' Gordon : [to Lizzie]  Tudgeman's all about shocking people. Think of him as Marilyn Manson to your Britney Spears.

  • David 'Gordo' Gordon : You don't have to worry about Larry Tudgeman. He went to the nurse's office complaining of stomach cramps and Claire hasn't even infiltrated the Drama Groupies.

Miranda Sanchez : But the Drama Club is like second-tier popular. They're going to vote for Claire.

Lizzie McGuire : Not if I can get them to vote for me.

David 'Gordo' Gordon : Okay, Lizzie. We've gone over this. You know what to do. You have to blend, but don't smile. Drama Groupies don't smile.

  • David 'Gordo' Gordon : Lizzie McGuire, you've become everything I hoped for and more. A chameleon changing colors whenever necessary at precisely the right moment. It scares me how good you are.

  • David 'Gordo' Gordon : With everyone so distracted at Claire and Larry, all Lizzie had to do was stand there. Out of the three of them, she looked the most normal.

Miranda Sanchez : Sounds like "Miss Voice of the People" was a big hit.

    David 'Gordo' Gordon : Miranda.

Miranda Sanchez : What? The election's tomorrow and Lizzie's blown off everyone to hang out with the drama club. I hardly see her anymore and I'm her best friend. She's become a monster and it's your fault.

David 'Gordo' Gordon : My fault? Lizzie's not a monster. She's a politician.

Miranda Sanchez : You're right. My bad. If a politician is someone who lies and bosses her friends around, then you're right. Lizzie's a real politician.

David 'Gordo' Gordon : All right. I get your point. I'll have a talk with Lizzie. I'll tell her if she wants to be the voice of the people, she's got to hang with everybody, not just the drama club.

  • David 'Gordo' Gordon : [to Lizzie]  So all I'm saying is visit some of the club rooms today and remind them that you're Lizzie McGuire, "Voice of the People." Do your hair in the braid thingy and trust me, we'll win this election big time.

Lizzie McGuire : I don't think so, Gordo.

David 'Gordo' Gordon : Why not?

Lizzie McGuire : Didn't you say I'm the "Voice of the People"?

    David 'Gordo' Gordon : Yeah.

Lizzie McGuire : And didn't you say I have to appeal to everyone?

David 'Gordo' Gordon : Uh-huh, but...

Lizzie McGuire : Well, arent I a lot more appealing if I hang with the drama club over the dorkestra?

David 'Gordo' Gordon : Well, no, uh...

    Lizzie McGuire : That's what I thought. Ba-bye.

    [walks off]

David 'Gordo' Gordon : [to himself]  Actually, Lizzie. You're not that appealing at all.

  • David 'Gordo' Gordon : I guess in a way we kind of won. I mean Tudgeman may eat worms, but at least he's not a cheerleader. That's what started this whole thing, remember? I mean, we wanted to stop the popular kids winning everything.
