Barry or Glenda, who's up to something?
Sleepin_Dragon14 August 2021
Barry is behaving very strangely in the woods, Glenda gets suspicious, and follows him, disguised, she inadvertently causes Barry to assume that she is having an affair.

It could have been quite a funny episode, but it doesn't quite have the legs, the Barry and Glenda story just doesn't work for me, but Howard's attempted escape with his bicycle was a very funny scene, and once again I loved the interactions between Alvin and Nora Batty, the pair are definitely working well together.

I can't imagine Truly was ever a particularly good Policeman, definitely not a Detective, hard to imagine what he'd have been doing there.

Not one of the funnier episodes, but cosy, teatime viewing nonetheless, 6/10.

Who's That with Barry and Glenda? - It's Not Barry and Glenda

Barry has been spotted acting suspiciously in the woods with a small suitcase.

Truly thinks that Barry has got some stolen cash which he is burying.

Glenda thinks that Barry is having an affair and she dons a disguise to follow him.

Only thing is Barry spots a stranger going to his house. Now Barry thinks that Glenda is having an affair and goes to Truly for help.

An episode of mistaken assumptions as everyone congregates in the woods to find out what Barry is up to. It would obviously be something innocent.

I do wonder if Barry ever goes to work at the building society, he always seems to be elsewhere.

It is a silly episode and I think even the cast are left flagging to try to make it funny. Smiler and Entwistle do their best.

There is a scene where Barry gets out of his car right outside his house with a suitcase. He never notices Glenda is right outside talking to Miss Davenport. So he surreptitiously hides his suitcase arousing Glenda's suspicions who then complains of Barry locking his car boot.
