Originally, when confronted with Nina about not existing until 2 years before, Michael pretended to be drunk. In the episode he merely says "Could've fooled me."
The scene in which Michael pieces together Bernie's plan originally included April. Her part was dramatically reduced in this episode - she only features as a guest at Bernie's party in Mexico City.
Perhaps the biggest difference between script and screen is the climax. Originally K.I.T.T. stopped Bernie from escaping all by himself. In the episode Michael hops in and does the driving, although K.I.T.T. still says "You can always bank on me."
This is the first episode in which it is revealed that K.I.T.T. is afraid of flying, a character trait later revealed to have been programmed by Bonnie (in "Sky Knight").
As they enter Mexico, the song playing is "Human Touch" by "Rick Springfield". It made number 18 on Billboard's Hot 100, but later became rather obscure. Previously, Rick Springfield released "Jessie's Girl", which made a very slow climb to #1 and stayed a staple on many Rock Stations for decades to comes.
