When Caldicott and his fiancée leave the movie theater because he was bothered by all of the couples who were necking in the seats around them, his fiancée reminds him that they had "cuddled" all through "The Vikings". The movie that they had been watching was "The Bridge on the River Kwai", which came out in 1957; the Kirk Douglas/Tony Curtis film "The Vikings" was released in 1958, so they couldn't have seen it before they saw "The Bridge on the River Kwai" at a movie theater.
