- A local publican smoothly sidesteps the Major's objections to beer sales at the annual St. Peter and St. Paul's Day Games, which are being held on Shreelane land. Philippa offers to organize tea for the event, and unknowingly becomes part of Flurry's scheme.
- Major Yeates discovers one of the Resident Magistrate's regular duties is to grant special licences to people for the purpose of supplying liquor to the annual St. Peter and St. Paul's Day Games. Flurry also manages to persuade the reluctant Major to host the festivities on his own estate and act as Chief Steward.
Needless to say, a spot of Irish trickery is involved and the resulting intoxication at the event involves the hapless magistrate in a series of hilarious misadventures - misadventures, which of couse, are all centered around Flurry's attempts to impress Sally.
