Sarah Marshall (Carol Baines) played the mother of the title character in the 1962 (season 3) Twilight Zone episode "Little Girl Lost".
When Kelly and Scotty are in the Santa Monica pier, and Kelly asks Scotty what he did when he was a boy, he answers he hung out with his friends, 'weird Harold, and fat Johnson...'. if the banners seem familiar (but one not yet in the format he's best known; fat Albert), is it's because the series, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids (1972) was based upon Bill Cosby's actual childhood.
The opening shot shows HRL, or Hughes Research Laboratories, above the now-Pepperdine University campus in Malibu, California. This fits with the "inertial guidance system" McGuffin featured in the story.
In the story, Carol Baines is a technical writer, at the research lab, who owns a house on Escondido Beach in Malibu. In late July, 2022, Zillow shows that the house is valued at $8 million, well out of reach of any technical writer at any employer in the Los Angeles area.
