Warning: Spoilers
This paranoia-heavy, overplotted episode sees Pembleton (Braugher) and Bayliss (Secor) investigate a possible patricide, with the main suspect, Laumer (Terry Kinney), turning out to be a secret agent.

Director Clark Johnson (who also stars as detective Lewis in the series) plays with juxtapositions and symbols - a recurring imagery involving water suggests the liquid, mercurial nature of the spy world.

Worth mentioning is the epilogue, a grace note featuring one of those brilliantly low-key Homicide moments focused on the detectives musing over the case's aftermath.
