Duncan getting the videotape seemed too easy. No copies? Robert's wife ok with everything at the end seemed like weak writing.

Warning: Spoilers
A lawyer, Robert, who was with his mistress videotaping their dalliance, comes upon Duncan fighting another immortal and captures Duncan on film beheading him. Later when Duncan tracks him down, he tries to blackmail Duncan into killing his wife in exchange for the tape. In the meantime the immortal Duncan killed, Matlin, has a friend, Kurlow, another immortal, who comes after Duncan for revenge. Both Matlin and Kurlow killed a man in 1805 and framed Duncan's friend for it. Duncan couldn't find the men, so he confessed to get his friend off. Later, after Duncan is hanged, he finds them, but they get away.

I guess it had to happen? How come no one ever sees immortals fight or gets it on camera, many a fan has asked? Well, here we go with that exact type of situation. Glad they did a story about it. Imagine today if they had the series? With all the cellphones? That's why I can't see how a reboot would ever work if they set it in current times.

I thought Robert was sort of funny. Duncan intimidates people all the time. Robert is indeed intimidated but at the same time brazen as he attempts to blackmail him. Kind of an unusual character. Anyway, I enjoyed his and Duncan's interactions.

I enjoyed Joe and Duncan out on a stakeout. That was fun to watch. Interesting conversation Joe and Duncan have about starting over.

Duncan: "When the police find out whose body that is, they'll go to his wife. Then she'll tell them about me."

Joe: "Then what?"

Duncan: "It means the end of Duncan MacLeod. It means disappearing, starting over again, as someone else... someone new."

Joe: "Cutting yourself off from everyone you know... being alone... Ah, it can't be easy."

Duncan: "It's not."

Joe: "Mac, there's got to be another way."

Duncan: "It's okay, Joe. It wouldn't be the first time."

Ok, when did Duncan ever change his name? Never. Yes he may have had to leave an area after he "died," but he never recreated a new persona for himself. It was Connor Macleod that changed his name, not Duncan. Actually, I always found it odd that they never had a flashback with Duncan using a different name. I think he has too much pride to change his name to be honest. Anyway, I think this is a big hole in the writing here.

Duncan getting the videotape back seemed too easy. I mean Robert didn't make any copies of it? Seemed like a weak spot in the story.

A pretty good fight with Kurlow and Duncan at the end. Robert's wife just kinda goes along with everything at the end. Another weak spot in the story. I gave the episode a 7/10.
