The Harts rough it in a not-so-rough episode
HilaryElizabeth923 March 2009
J&J go to their wilderness cabin for a vacation of fishing and nature where instead of stumbling onto a dastardly plot, the dastardly plot stumbles upon them. This episode is chock full of really good, recognizable character actors, including the very prolific Lane Smith and Barry Corbin. Also a good turn from Dominique Dunne before her brief career ended with the actress's murder at the hands of her boyfriend. This one was so full of excellent continuity and really well-written dialogue. The location shoots were gorgeous and believable and just plain great. Lionel also turns in another hysterical and amusing performance as he pretends to be drunk to get one up on the bad guys. The final chase is fun, action-packed, and perfect.

We may be rich but we can rough it too

Warning: Spoilers
This one is funny for the reason that the Hart's prove they are down to earth and schlep it to their rustic cabin – not in the jet or the Rolls or Mercedes but in a Ford Bronco! They also travel initially without Max! The cabin is really small and Jennifer at one point is deciding in which t-fal pan to cook dinner!!!Also of note is that the young girl Christie is played by Dominique Dunne the actress daughter of Dominic Dunne – she was murdered tragically by a crazy boyfriend probably not too long after this episode aired. Her death prompted her father to become an expert in murder trials (like OJ's – ironic w/ the ford bronco reference – ha!)

Body Count = 1

Harts go camping and like always trouble finds them

The Harts escape to their mountain cabin, and guess what? They get involved in rescuing a young friend who's being framed for murder by the local sheriff, and are almost rammed off the road for their troubles as well as almost being blown up. The bad guys are played by Barry Corbin and Lane smith and they are villainous enough for us to root for the Harts. There's plenty of action here in this solid episode. A genius idea with a fishing rod gets Harts and Miss Dunne out of danger. Dominique Dunne does well in her role. Tragically, her career was cut short when her boyfriend murdered her and literally got away with murder via a short sentence.

I hate these people

I can't really be fair about this episode because I was cheated in a land deal by enviro-looney regulations passed under a president in the back pocket of the environmental lobby. Therefore I despise envieo-wackies and the constant seizure of land by the evil federal government. Look how much land the federal government owns already and they-re taking more and more, like the monarchs in the old countries. And Stefanie Powers was a well-known wack-job. Anyway, it's a typical depiction of country and small-town folk by kbow-it-all city types. And features a member of the Dukakis family. Thank Heavens that nut didn't become president, and I voted for the creep.

Anyway, a boy is framed for murder by a pot-bellied Sheriff and though all the young people were about the age I was then I'm disgusted by them.

Rotten, bigoted, envior-stupid, ordinary-people episode by rich city people who think they run the world and can keep cheating nice people like me so they can fish. They can all rot.
