In the last scenes, the girls on the team are told that due to injuries and illness they will have to forfeit the championship game due to not enough players (not having 9 players)... actually, if you count the girls on the team that Alex is addressing, they total 9... and that's before the neighbor girl Arlene knocks on the door and "saves the day".
I am surprised that this error was not caught given it is CRITICAL to the plot.
