- TriviaOscar is skimming a newspaper at Doortje's. The newspaper is from Friday, September 1, 1989. The match KV Mechelen vs Club Brugge features on the cover, from the 1989-1990 season. The match was played in the evening of Wednesday, August 30, 1989. Brugge plays in white shirts. Mechelen won 3-1, goals by Bruno Versavel, Marc Emmers and Francis Severeyns. Frank Farina scored for Brugge. Brugge "is having doubts" and is in a crisis, similar to the title's plot as Oscar is in danger of losing his job as a coach of the soccer team. When it aired, the 1990-1991 season was underway.
- GoofsCarmen says Pascale 'drove past' ('reed hier ook juist voorbij') but Oscar and Pascale do not own a car. Bieke does so, later on the show. Whether "reed", [in Dutch past tense for both 'rode' and 'drove'] refers to a bicycle or a car is not clear in Pascale's case [or cannot be deduced] from that scene.
- Quotes
Balthasar "the Ball" Boma: Oscar, did you do the laundry?
Oscar: [annoyed] That would be Madam Crucke's department.
Balthasar "the Ball" Boma: People can't read my advertising.
Marc: [interviews Oscar for Boma's radio] Could you say that last thing one more time?
Oscar: [grabs microphone, yells] That would be Madam Crucke's department!
Marc: That's way too loud.
- Crazy credits"THE ORIGINALS" message appears in a framework at the start of each intro with theme song from De nieuwe truitjes (1990) to Love Story (1993), to honor the titles with Carry Goossens (Oscar) in the lead and Walter Michiels (Pico) co-starring. This has been the case for all re-runs and DVD and Blue-ray releases since the 2010s.
