****SPOILERS**** Running up scores of unpaid parking tickets socialite Doreen "Bee" Benjamin, Dina Van der Vis, is forced by the court to do 30 days of community service licking stamps and mailing out letters for the city's welfare clients that social worker Neil Brock, George C. Scott, is in charge of. At first not taking her job seriously "Miss Bee" as she's called gets really into it seeing how the other side, those not as rich and well to do like herself, lives and thus making their lives better. Dealing with the teenage girls under her care "Miss Bee" shows them how to improve their both social as well as love lives by dressing themselves in fashion clothes as well as putting on the right makeup and acting like ladies not trailer or ghetto trash bimbos.
So impressed is Brock with her work that he promotes "Miss Bee" to be his special assistant in her helping out those girls who until she came on the scene had difficulty in getting their heads together. It's later at a "For the Children" city sponsored girls basketball game that "Miss. Bee's" purse as well as her miniature pit-bull attack dog-called Monster-is stolen from right under her nose. Now feeling betrayed by the girls, whom she suspects of committing this ghastly crime, "Miss. Bee's" attitude towards them goes completely downhill.
****SPOILERS**** It's with Neil Brock's help that "Miss Bee" overcomes her frustration with the girls that she's in charge of and suspects of robbing her of her purse credit cards and most of all her precious Monster and in the end after serving her time doing community service she populously gets arrested and given a moving violation ticket. That for driving without a license and having some half dozen young girls, without seat-belts, packed into her tiny two seater sport car. All that so she can get back doing another 30 days of community service at Neil Brock's office that taught her the meaning of helping in the community. As for Neil who gets a golden whistle, to call cabs at night, from "Miss Bee" and he in return got her a new pet doggy to replace her Monster-Known as the "Scourge of East Harlem"-whom she or we've never seen or heard from since!
