The first scene after the opening credits of this episode, the first of Season 2, sets the tone for the self-parody that permeates the entire story. Eddie Charles is in a hospital bed, eyes bandaged after cosmetic surgery. The character was played in Season 1 by Jeff Joseph, and has now been replaced by Dorien Wilson for the rest of the series. Eddie (the character) delivers lines that could be interpreted as the actor commenting off-camera about his own replacement. The doctor removes the bandages from his eyes, and he takes a look in the mirror. "Martin", he says to his friend Martin Tupper, "do I look different to you? . . . I don't look changed, somehow?" Martin thinks it over: "A little younger, maybe."
During filming, David Bowie found out that cinematographer Mac Ahlberg had shot Reanimator (1985). He excitedly ran up to Ahlberg asking if this was true. Ahlberg said it was. Bowie replied "That is my favourite film."
Originally 60 minutes, this segment aired as two, 30 minute episodes in syndication.
