- When another nasty row between Pete and Jane makes them bail out of an Aerosmith rock concert, Greg and Dharma are stuck with two extra tickets. Looking for alternatives they realize they don't really have friends their age, but finally meet a charming couple, Doug and Cynthia, with whom they get on well. Suddenly the Goodbars seem unwilling to meet Greg and Dharma anymore, so they start guessing what the other did to scare them off and sort of spy on them.—KGF Vissers
- Pete and Jane get into a fight and cancel on Dharma and Greg at the last minute for going to an Aerosmith concert. They can't find any replacement friends to join them for the concert at such short notice. Greg did not want to ask Larry and Abby since they are grown-ups, and they should have their own circle of friends. Even Abby and Larry ditch them, and they eventually take Kitty and Edward, who are a total buzzkill.
Worried that they've run out of friends, Dharma and Greg "interview" a series of potential couples to see who meets their strict requirements. They are worried that their kids would not have anybody to play with. Starting with Greg's old colleague Paul Marsh (David Beach) and his wife Sarah (Cynthia LaMontagne). They were at the Aerosmith concert as well. Dharma breaks them up when she suggests that it might be the devil who intervened in form of Sarah to deviate Paul from becoming a priest. Paul was studying to be a priest when Sarah met him, and Paul started pursuing her. Dharma says that most religions have a test that reaffirms a person's faith in God and the ability to resist temptation. Paul renounces Sarah and goes back to the service of the Lord.
Meanwhile Jane and Pete are having a series of escalating fights. Jane super glues Pete to the lift button. Pete puts dye in the shower head and turns Jane completely blue. Jane shaves away part of Pete's hair on his head. She then captures Pete; duct tapes his mouth and carries him on a wheelbarrow.
Greg and Dharma are out of friends from their address book. They need fresh grounds to expand their search. They start staking out at Ikea and museums to meet new couples. Greg cannot carry a decent conversation and they keep striking out. Greg even goes out on couple dates with folks recommended by Kitty. The couple turns out to be a mail order bride who married an US citizen for a green card and works at a nail salon where she does Kitty's hands and feet. The woman says that she doesn't have to sleep with the man, and only tie him up and call him names.
Dharma & Greg meet Doug (Patrick Fabian) & Cynthia by chance (Catherine Dent). Their car had broken down by the side of the road. Cynthia shares the same quirks as Dharma and has named her car "Sally". They hit it off. But they come on too strong. Dumb charades, dinners, movies together, expensive gifts & Doug & Cynthia dump them.
They both blame each for coming on too strong, Greg used "we love you guys" 12 times one night. Dharma had invited them to meet her parents. Dharma suggests that they go and check what Doug and Cynthia are doing without them. Dharma wants to see if they are cheating on them. They find Doug and Cynthia at Dharma's favorite restaurant having dinner with another couple. Greg & Dharma are hurt & go back to their folks. Dharma, Greg, Abby and Larry go for a movie together.
