Quotes
-
Ramon Ortega : What's the real reason you come to Silver City?
Marshal Simon Fry : Oh, I wanted to check up on some rumors I heard.
Ramon Ortega : Rumors?
Marshal Simon Fry : In writin'.
-
Ramon Ortega : Now look, Marshal, no matter how bad my past record, I'm an honest man today and yet Mr. Gardner wants Clay to run me out of town.
Marshal Simon Fry : If I know my deputy, he laughed in his face.
Ramon Ortega : You know your deputy.
Marshal Simon Fry : Well, he'd better stop laughin' and start to finagle something. By buyin', borrowin', beggin' or stealin', he's going to have t get enough help to stop these robberies or I'll make him wish he was back runnin' the general store again.
-
Ramon Ortega : You know I've given up the use of guns.
Clay McCord : Open your coat.
Ramon Ortega : Hmm?
Clay McCord : Open it.
[Ortega opens his coat and reveals two small pistols inside]
Clay McCord : Looks like they haven't given you up.
Ramon Ortega : Well, a man cannot walk around undressed. You know, somebody who's not peaceful may shoot holes in him.
Clay McCord : I'm afraid that's the price you have to pay for you kind of life.
-
Ramon Ortega : You cannot drive us out of business. We have broken no laws!
Clay McCord : I've got a whole book full of ordinances. If you haven't broken any of them, I'll have the city council pass some you have broken.
-
Ramon Ortega : You're lying to me, Ruby.
Ruby : I'm not lying to you.
Ramon Ortega : Of course you are - and not very well.
-
Ramon Ortega : How many are in the bunch?
Ruby : Six or seven. I can't remember how many Blue said.
Miller : That's a tough job takin on six hard cases on their home ground.
Ramon Ortega : If you would fish, you must put something very tempting on the line. I'm thinking of silver buillion - a wagonload of silver bars worth eighty thousand dollars.
-
Ramon Ortega : You'll soon see who are the real bandits.
Clay McCord : If what you say is true, Ortega, you better duck fast when they show up, 'cause they hit hard and they use lead, not words.
