- Sen. Sam Culver: How's Ellie, Jock? Same stick of fire as she always was?
- Jock Ewing: Oh, she's mellowed some, but still all woman.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: [J.R. is whistling while pouring a drink] You seem mighty happy with yourself tonight, J.R. You managed to evict some widows today?
- J.R. Ewing: You keep drinking like that, and you're gonna be evicted onto a trash heap, dear.
- J.R. Ewing: We have got to get rid of Cliff Barnes.
- Jock Ewing: Sure we do, but how?
- J.R. Ewing: There's gotta be a way. We gotta get the power away from the OLM. The court's not gonna help us.
- Jock Ewing: The state created that office, and they're still behind it.
- J.R. Ewing: Who do we know with enough clout to make them change their mind about it?
- Jock Ewing: Only one man with that much power in this state - Sam Culver.
- Ray Krebbs: Donna, we can work this out together.
- Donna Culver: [hugs Ray] Oh, you are such a good man. You have so much to offer a woman I can't even begin to tell you. Don't you know that you've made me see my life for what it really is? I mean, that's why I can leave Sam. I'm not going to be gone forever. And, uh, well, when I come back, I mean, uh, if you're still interested...
- [passionate kiss]
- [last lines]
- Bobby Ewing: This have something to do with that new lady of yours?
- Ray Krebbs: Well, that didn't work out, Bobby, at least not yet. More important, though, is I learned something this time.
- Bobby Ewing: Like what?
- Ray Krebbs: Well, I'd like to really care for someone again. I tell ya, that's a damn fine feeling!
- Bobby Ewing: [at breakfast table] Hey, Lucy, gonna mope around here all day or you're gonna go to school?
- Lucy Ewing: [down] Guess I'll go to school.
- Bobby Ewing: Good. I'll drive you. I don't have anything to do for a couple of hours.
- [smiles at his parents before leaving with Lucy]
- J.R. Ewing: Bobby always was the understanding one, wasn't he?
- Bobby Ewing: [outside] Gonna stand around with a long face all your life?
- Lucy Ewing: I can't quit thinking about Kit, and J.R. doesn't make it any easier.
- Bobby Ewing: I know, honey. I wish there was something I could do to ease the pain.
- Lucy Ewing: Yes, so do I.
- [spots makeshift wooden panels, obviously hiding something big, in driveway]
- Lucy Ewing: Hey, what is this? Where did it come from, Bobby?
- Bobby Ewing: What, this? Well, I thought the house was built around it, I don't know.
- Lucy Ewing: Oh, come on, Bobby, you know what it is! Tell me, what is it?
- Bobby Ewing: Okay, okay, okay, okay. Now stand right there.
- [picks up cord that's going to bring the structure down, and she giggles]
- Bobby Ewing: Now take this, close your eyes... and give a big tug, and you might just see something you've been wishing for. But don't peek, or you get nothing.
- Lucy Ewing: [the panels fall away, it's a brand-new convertible, her eyes are still shut] Can I look?
- Bobby Ewing: Sure.
- Lucy Ewing: Oh, Bobby, it's beautiful! Oh, Bobby, it's beautiful! Is it for me, really?
- [runs closer, hand-in-hand with her uncle]
- Lucy Ewing: Bobby! Bobby! Oh, it's beautiful! Bobby, why?
- Bobby Ewing: Oh, because it's a real pain driving you to school every day... and I realize you're more than mature enough to have one of your own.
- Lucy Ewing: Oh, thank you, Bobby, thank you!
- [hugs him]
- Bobby Ewing: You're welcome, honey. Come on now, you don't want to be late for your first day.
- [she jumps in eagerly]
- Bobby Ewing: Let me move the front of the box.
- [clears obstruction]
- Bobby Ewing: Okay?
- [she starts ignition]
- Bobby Ewing: Now you be careful.
- [she darts off]
