Quotes
-
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [Donna and Ray married] Oh, Bobby, I'm so happy for them. Isn't it wonderful?
Bobby Ewing : Well, I have some news that's gonna make you even happier.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Yeah?
Bobby Ewing : Cliff agrees to be my legal counsel.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Oh, Bobby...
Bobby Ewing : Are you happy?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Yes, I am. Thank you, I know why you asked him.
Bobby Ewing : You're welcome.
[kisses her, goes off]
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [to herself] I just wish I knew why Cliff accepted.
-
Bobby Ewing : [as Pam readies herself to go downstairs where the family is going to toast Donna and Ray] I went to see Alex Ward today, Pam.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Alex? Why?
Bobby Ewing : Lucy told me she got her job because of your influence with him.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Oh, Bobby. It was nothing. I did it for Lucy.
Bobby Ewing : Pam, you told me that you weren't gonna see him again. Now why did you go see him behind my back? Why couldn't you tell me about It?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Well, to be honest, I didn't think you'd understand.
Bobby Ewing : Do you understand?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : What do you mean?
Bobby Ewing : Did you go see him for Lucy, or... because you wanted to see him?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [adamant] I went to see him for Lucy.
[fumbles with necklace]
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Why are you trying to make so much out of this? It's exactly the reason why I didn't mention it. I was afraid you'd misunderstand.
Bobby Ewing : [helps her with necklace] Pam, do you understand?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : What's that supposed to mean?
Bobby Ewing : I went to see Alex, because you weren't around, and I wanted to know what was going on. And he told me something very interesting.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : What?
Bobby Ewing : He said that you wouldn't have looked at him... If there wasn't something wrong with our marriage. Is there?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [she turns away, then faces him again] There was. You changed. You became different. I didn't feel loved or cared for, that you even knew when I was around. I was alone most of the time, Bobby, even when you were here. Well, that may be okay for some wives. But I needed more.
Bobby Ewing : You said "there was." Do you think we still have a problem?
[a knock on the door interrupts]
Jock Ewing : [opens door] Come on downstairs. They're here.
