- Mandy Winger: [quiet restaurant] They don't get much business here during cocktail time.
- J.R. Ewing: Mm-hmm. They don't open for a couple of hours.
- Mandy Winger: Is this... another example of the J.R. touch? First, a private box at Texas Stadium and now, a restaurant all to ourselves?
- J.R. Ewing: [chuckles] I hope you don't think I'm trying to impress you.
- Mandy Winger: The thought did occur to me. You asked me for a cocktail. I didn't expect champagne. I certainly didn't expect this incredible caviar.
- J.R. Ewing: Oh, well, I'll send a couple of pounds over to you.
- Mandy Winger: If I had known you were in such a generous mood, I'd have raved about one of your oil wells.
- J.R. Ewing: You know, I think I've got a spare one sitting around here someplace.
- Mandy Winger: [chuckles] Now I know you're kidding. No one's like that.
- J.R. Ewing: There's, always that one exception.
- Mandy Winger: I haven't seen you in quite a while. I was beginning to think I didn't make much of an impression.
- J.R. Ewing: Oh, that's why I arranged this little get-together. To apologize for my neglect. But there's been a crisis of sorts in my family.
- Mandy Winger: Yeah, I read about your brother Bobby's wedding. Or should I say the wedding that didn't happen.
- J.R. Ewing: Yeah, it's really very strange. Bobby's hurting.
- Mandy Winger: You really care about him.
- J.R. Ewing: Yes, I do. My family's very important to me. But we'll work it out. Now, let's talk about us.
- Mandy Winger: [chuckles] Well, what makes you think there's an 'us'?
- J.R. Ewing: Just hoping
- Mandy Winger: And what about the man I'm going with?
- J.R. Ewing: Oh, yeah, I'm always forgetting about him. Well, I guess he'll just have to... find somebody else, won't he?
- Mandy Winger: You're very sure of yourself.
- J.R. Ewing: Does that bother you?
- Mandy Winger: No.
- J.R. Ewing: One good thing. I'm glad Pam's off on that wild-goose chase of hers. She's not gonna be around to make a move on him.
