Quotes
-
JR Ewing : Hello?
Donna Culver Krebbs : Ray?
JR Ewing : No, it's, uh, me.
[Donna hides suitcase in wardrobe]
Donna Culver Krebbs : [hands on her hips] What are you doing here?
JR Ewing : Well, I... I knocked on the door, there was no answer, so I...
Donna Culver Krebbs : What do you want?
JR Ewing : I wanna see Ray.
Donna Culver Krebbs : He's not here.
JR Ewing : Yeah, I know that. He's not on the ranch. I asked around. The hands don't know where he is. Do you know where he is?
Donna Culver Krebbs : I don't really think that that's any of your business.
JR Ewing : Well, maybe it's just as well he's not here. I think you'll be able to understand what I have to say better than he could.
Donna Culver Krebbs : J.R., I am very busy.
JR Ewing : Now I'm gonna do you and Ray a favor.
Donna Culver Krebbs : [scoffs] You know, your favors always come with a price tag.
JR Ewing : Well... your marriage is in real trouble, Donna, and I think I know how to save it.
Donna Culver Krebbs : That is also none of your damn business.
JR Ewing : Well, Ray is a Ewing, or a half a one anyhow, so that does make it my business, honey. Say, Donna, let's face it. Ray doesn't handle pressure very well. And responsibility not at all. He's doing a lousy job running this ranch. And of course there is the added burden of those ten voting shares of Ewing Oil to worry about, and...
Donna Culver Krebbs : [chuckles] You know, I was wondering when you were gonna get around to your angle in all of this.
JR Ewing : Well, I'm not denying I'd like those shares. Of course, I'd know what to do with them. But for Ray, it's just... Well, that added responsibility is a millstone around his neck.
Donna Culver Krebbs : You know, why is it, J.R., whenever you wanna give somebody an apple, it's always got a worm in it?
