- J.R. Ewing: [talking to Ray about Donna] You know, Sam used to say that she was, eh, she was the real politician in the family. If she ever decided to run for public office, she'd win by a landslide. And I believe it, I really do. Yeah, with all that loot he left her and her looks, there's just about nothing in the world she couldn't have. Which is why it just beats hell out of me how you think she's gonna be happy living in a cabin on Southfork, barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen.
- J.R. Ewing: [to Sue Ellen] I wouldn't be at all surprised if the first word this child learns is 'where's mamma?'
- Bobby Ewing: You really think my ego is that big?
- Jenna Wade: Used to be.
- Bobby Ewing: When?
- Jenna Wade: I remember that day it made you really happy when I pushed Dotty Maypack into the pool because you asked her to the movies.
- Bobby Ewing: [they both laugh] I was only twelve years old at the time.
- Jenna Wade: Well, most men don't get much older than that.
- Donna Culver: [about Ray] What do you think of him?
- Dave Culver: He doesn't say very much.
- Donna Culver: Well, that's because he's not a politician. I mean, he doesn't talk unless he has something to say.
- Jenna Wade: You know, I think this is where you kissed me the first time.
- Bobby Ewing: No it ain't, it was in a barn.
- Jenna Wade: [giggles] Men! You never remember anything.
- Bobby Ewing: That's not true. It was in a barn and I remember very well.
- [gives her a little kiss]
- Bobby Ewing: It was in a barn and I was scared out of my mind, and I was ten years old. Remember?
- Jenna Wade: Hm-hm. I remember.
- Ray Krebbs: What did you think of that movie?
- Donna Culver: I liked it, didn't you?
- Ray Krebbs: I'll tell ya, I was so busy reading the subtitles I hardly had a chance to look.
- Donna Culver: It is a habit you'll be getting used to.
- Ray Krebbs: I don't know about that.
- J.R. Ewing: [after she kissed him, he shows no real interest] Darling, where are those papers you got from Bollier?
- Kristin Shepard: Over there on the table.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, I don't know why you didn't bring them to the restaurant in the first place.
- Kristin Shepard: Do you have to leave right away?
- J.R. Ewing: Darling,
- [scoffs]
- J.R. Ewing: it's late.
- Kristin Shepard: You hardly spoke to me at dinner. And now it's barely ten o'clock and you wanna go home? I don't know why you spend any time with me at all.
- J.R. Ewing: Kristin, I'm a busy man. I've only got so much attention to go around. And everything I've got right now is just used up.
- Kristin Shepard: On what? Sue Ellen?
- J.R. Ewing: A jealous woman is never a very pretty sight.
- Kristin Shepard: And what about a jealous man? Is that what I have to do to get your attention? Find myself a lover?
- J.R. Ewing: It might be worth a try. I'll see you in the morning.
- [opens door, leaves]
