- private investigator: [re Peter] Well, if he's got any skeletons, we'll dig them up.
- J.R. Ewing: If not, we'll put 'em there.
- private investigator: What's that, sir?
- J.R. Ewing: [chuckles] Just a little joke.
- Katherine Wentworth: I'll do my best.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, your best had better be good enough. If not, I'll play Bobby that tape I made. Remember it? You and me in the sack?
- Iris Porter: [after telling Cliff he has twelve days to come up with 125.6 million dollars] And may I say, I really admire a man like you. That bid you made took a lot of courage. You are the type of American that made our country what it is today.
- Bobby Ewing: [thought it was Jenna] Well, Charlie, what are you doing here?
- Charlie Wade: I wanted to talk to you, Bobby. Is it okay?
- Bobby Ewing: Well, of course it is, come on in. Does your Mama know that you're here?
- Charlie Wade: No, I took the bus over from school.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, how about that?
- Charlie Wade: Do you think it would be okay... if I talk to Bobby alone?
- J.R. Ewing: [with a chuckle] Oh, sure. Lookit there, kicking your own brother out of your office.
- Charlie Wade: I'm sorry.
- J.R. Ewing: [turns back in the doorway] It's all right, honey. I understand. Bobby and I are finished anyhow.
- [closes door]
- Bobby Ewing: Well, come on. What's on your mind?
- Charlie Wade: [sits down] Bobby, why have you and Mama stopped seeing each other?
- Bobby Ewing: [sighs] Oh, honey, that's a very long and complicated story.
- Charlie Wade: I just *know* it has something to do with me.
- Bobby Ewing: With you?
- Charlie Wade: Did I do something wrong that day?
- Bobby Ewing: What day?
- Charlie Wade: You know, the day you came to get me at school... and we went to Southfork and rode Darius?
- Bobby Ewing: Yeah?
- Charlie Wade: That was the day you broke up.
- Bobby Ewing: Well, I know, honey, but that had nothing to do with it. You're... you're mixing up a lot of different things together.
- Charlie Wade: [tearfully] I asked Mama, but she won't talk to me about it.
- [crying:]
- Charlie Wade: That's why I came to see you.
- Bobby Ewing: [comforting her] All right, calm down.
- Charlie Wade: Maybe it's because you bought me Darius.
- [shakes her head]
- Charlie Wade: I'd rather not have him.
- [sniffs]
- Charlie Wade: I just want you and Mama back together.
- Bobby Ewing: Sweetheart... what happened with your Mama and me
- [shakes his head]
- Bobby Ewing: was strictly between the two of us. It had nothing to do with you, nothing at all.
- Charlie Wade: But...
- Bobby Ewing: No buts. I've never lied to you before. You believe that, don't you?
- [she shrugs]
- Bobby Ewing: Well, believe it. Your Mama loves you very much, and so do I. Do you remember when I told you that?
- [she nods]
- Bobby Ewing: All right. I meant it then, and I mean it now.
- Charlie Wade: [whimpering] I was so scared I did something.
- Bobby Ewing: Well, you didn't. But I'll tell you what. I'm gonna take the rest of the day... away from the office. And you and I are gonna spend the afternoon together.
- Charlie Wade: Doing what?
- Bobby Ewing: I don't have the slightest idea but we'll think of something before we get to the elevator. Is that a deal?
- Charlie Wade: It's a deal.
- Bobby Ewing: Okay, come on, let's go.
- J.R. Ewing: [Katherine says she's the woman for Bobby] A bird in the hand, honey. And Jenna was in the hand until you screwed it up.
- Katherine Wentworth: Look, I didn't break up Bobby and Pam so he could marry Jenna Wade. I want him for myself.
- Cliff Barnes: Well, I tell ya, you coulda knocked me over with a feather when you phoned me. How'd you know I was looking for money?
- Vaughn Leland: When someone's in the market for over 220 million dollars, every banker in the state hears about it.
- J.R. Ewing: Jenna was perfect, just perfect! Well, I guess you'll have to do.
- Katherine Wentworth: Well, you're certainly big on compliments, aren't you?
- J.R. Ewing: With Bobby on the loose again, the only sure way to keep him and that Barnes woman apart is to make sure she goes ahead and marries Mark Graison.
- Katherine Wentworth: Well, I have no objection to that.
- J.R. Ewing: [mockingly] Oh, you "have no objection to that," do you? Well, you better just keep on pushin' till that happens, honey!
- Katherine Wentworth: [goes to the door and looks back] I'll do my best.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, your best better be real good... 'cause if it's not, I'm gonna play Bobby that little tape I made. You remember? You and me in the sack? And after he hears it, he'll never even look at you again.
- Afton Cooper: [enters, carrying bag of groceries] Hi, I'm home.
- Cliff Barnes: Hi, honey.
- [takes the grocery bag]
- Cliff Barnes: You remember Vaughn Leland?
- Afton Cooper: [with distaste] Yes, I do.
- Vaughn Leland: Hello, Afton. Nice to see you.
- Afton Cooper: [grabs back the grocery bag from Cliff] If you'll excuse me, I'll be in the kitchen.
