- J.R. Ewing: Russell, there are very few things that J.R. Ewing cannot afford, but patience is one of them.
- Bobby Ewing: [wants to find Hicks' weak spot] Can you do that, Wendy?
- Wendy: If there is something... I'll find it.
- Bobby Ewing: Good.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Mama, I can't worry about Cliff anymore. He's got you to protect him. But I do worry about Bobby. And I *am* worried about my marriage.
- Rebecca Barnes Wentworth: Pam... you love Bobby. You're gonna have to fight for your marriage.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [shakes her head] I don't think there's anything more I can do about it.
- Bobby Ewing: [to the hired bait in the trap] How did you keep Hicks out of your apartment?
- Wendy: I just told him I had a roommate who was home.
- Bobby Ewing: So you left him high and dry.
- Wendy: And hungry.
- [smiles]
- Wendy: Isn't that what a first date's all about?
- Bobby Ewing: Wendy, I... I like the way you're handling this.
- Wendy: And I like you, Mr. Ewing. When this is all over, if you'd like to get together...
- Bobby Ewing: [sighs heavily] Wendy... You're very beautiful. And you're nice.
- [shakes his head]
- Bobby Ewing: But this is strictly a business deal.
- [Wendy is clearly disappointed]
- Afton Cooper: [answers phone] Cliff, where...?
- [but it's not Cliff]
- Afton Cooper: Who is this?
- [clearly distressing news]
- Afton Cooper: Oh, my God!
- [hurriedly cradles the phone and rushes out of the house]
- Bobby Ewing: I feel so dirty.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: What do you want from me? Sympathy? Because you're not going to get it.
- Bobby Ewing: Pam, I don't want your sympathy.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Oh, yes, you do. You want me to slap your wrist and then reassure you that you're still the same wonderful man underneath it all. Well, I'm not gonna help you out! You can stay dirty!
- Bobby Ewing: You don't understand.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Understand? I understand that you're not the man I married! The Bobby I love would rather be dead than blackmail a Hicks or anyone else, double-cross the Cartel, and force his own mother into court!
- Bobby Ewing: There were reasons.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Reasons? There's only one reason! You would do anything to beat JR and get the company! Anything!
- Miss Ellie Ewing: I've done everything I could. Even if the boys are determined to destroy each other, they're not going to destroy me.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Can you really walk away from all this, Miss Ellie?
- Miss Ellie Ewing: Pam, the only way I can continue to live here is to ignore the war and get on with my own life.
- Bobby Ewing: The man with political aspirations doesn't want to play the Sheriff of Nottingham to J.R.'s Robin Hood.
- Cliff Barnes: [enters to find Thurman forcing his affections on Afton] Hey, what the hell is going on? What are you doing here, Thurman?
- Gil Thurman: Well, all I'm doing is having another ride on the rollercoaster!
- George Hicks: What do you want, Ewing? Just exactly what is it you want?
- Bobby Ewing: You gt forty-eight hours to call a meeting of the TEC. Then I want you to vote the way you used to vote before you got mixed up with my brother.
- George Hicks: How can I vote against J.R.'s variance after all I've said? How will I explain it?
- Bobby Ewing: Hicks, you'll figure it out.
- George Hicks: Ewing, I gotta give you credit. You're just as dirty as your famous brother.
- Miss Ellie Ewing: Frank is a very charming man and I like him. I really do. But Clayton is very special. He has something different, a sweetness, a strength.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Clayton is a fine man.
- Miss Ellie Ewing: Yes, he is. And I was lucky. He was there for me. Just like he was always there for you.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Why are you getting involved in the feud again, Mother?
- Rebecca Barnes Wentworth: Somebody has to stop JR from getting that refinery. I can do it.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: You're just escalating the war, just making it worse.
- Rebecca Barnes Wentworth: I'm making it worse? Look at what JR is up to! Look at how your own husband is behaving! The stakes are very high here, Pam!
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I'm sorry, Mama. I'm just terribly frightened somebody is really going to be hurt.
