Alan is struggling to sleep, and when he learns that Vincent is having a house party, he decides on the lesser of two evils, a night spent at Dad's place.
Perhaps this one was a little funnier than the first, you can see that Alan has fought to escape the shackles of his overbearing dad, but has in fact picked up more of his old man's traits than he'd have liked.
Several funny moments, the scene with the firelighters perhaps the best, the whole scenario was quite funny.
Again it's safe, inoffensive, easy going end of 90's humour, I enjoyed it.
Pilchards, they were definitely a source of amusement in 90's sitcoms, they popped up a few times, definitely on One foot in The Grave.
7/10.
