- Frasier has decided that he needs to get in shape. Rather than go with his original plan of hiring a personal trainer, Frasier takes Sam up on his offer to train him for free. After one hellish day of training for Frasier where Sam just sits and watches and eats donuts, Frasier has had enough and will do whatever he needs to to keep Sam away. Meanwhile, Woody has just returned from an all expenses paid trip to London with Kelly, paid for by the Gaines family. Woody has returned a changed man: pompous and affected by the English ways. After everyone in the bar gets mad at him, Woody makes a Freudian slip and calls himself Woody Gaines. He then realizes that he has indeed changed because of this trip and his access to the Gaines family money. He thinks perhaps it wouldn't be a good idea to marry Kelly and her money. Kelly is heartbroken when Woody tells her, and she turns to the only person around for support: an uncomfortable Norm. Norm suggest she try living like Woody, an example being to travel via the subway. This task may be difficult since she doesn't even know what the subway is. If they are to stay together, Woody and Kelly have to come to an understanding about how they will live monetarily.—Huggo
- Frasier makes an announcement to the Cheers gang that he plans to get back in shape. After introducing his personal trainer, Sam tells Frasier he'll provide better service for no charge.
Frasier accepts Sam's offer, but soon grows exasperated as Sam runs him ragged (while Sam kicks back eating snack foods).
Meanwhile, Woody and Kelly have returned from a European vacation (paid for by Kelly's family). As he continues to go about his daily routine, the bar notes that Woody seems to have grown rather pompous since his time in Europe. When the gang finally has enough and angrily tells this to Woody, he claims 'he's still the same Woody Gaines,' soon realizing he just said Kelly's last name and not his own.
When Kelly sees that Woody is upset, he tells her of his fear that being married to her and her wealthy lifestyle will alienate him from his friends, and rushes out of the bar. Kelly begins to cry at the circumstances, when Norm suggests that maybe she should try to live more like Woody does, and do things like take the subway (the concept of which is considerably foreign to Kelly).
The next day, Kelly takes the subway, and rather enjoys her exciting time: from people trying to get on 'her subway car,' to spray-painting art in the tunnels with some workers. Woody however, having heard that Kelly was taking the subway, goes to get her, only to be beaten-up and robbed of his wallet.
In the aftermath, both Woody and Kelly make a decision to live off each of their incomes: Kelly will live off hers from her family, while Woody his from working at Cheers.
