- The gang is celebrating its second anniversary of beating Gary's Olde Towne Tavern in bowling, their one and only victory in the bar wars. But they are also on a winning streak. The act of Gary stealing and breaking the bowling trophy reignites their war, of which Rebecca is unfamiliar. She refuses to participate, until the war starts to affect her. The pranks are generally mild but juvenile, but Rebecca agrees to Gary's offer of a truce. The cease fire quickly ends when Gary pulls another prank. Beyond the pranks, the gang at Cheers become paranoid about every stranger that comes into the bar, including someone who claims to be Red Sox power hitter Wade Boggs, who says he was sent by Gary to sign autographs. He looks like Wade Boggs, sounds like Wade Boggs, but does that make him Wade Boggs? The resulting end of this war is in the words of the wise "pretty weeny".—Huggo
- It's the second anniversary of Cheers' victory over Gary's Olde Towne Tavern at bowling, and the bar is celebrating big time. However, the celebration screeches to a halt when the bar's bowling trophy disappears! Everyone immediately suspects Gary's, and Sam and Woody go over to investigate...only to return with the trophy, broken.
Though Rebecca does not want the bar to start a war with Gary's Sam and Carla go over to Gary's, with a peace-offering of champagne. However, the offering proves to be a joke when the bar patrons end up drinking from drip-glasses.
Gary retaliates by sending in exterminators to look for a rat problem, lowering the bar stools, and even putting sheep in Rebecca's office.
Sam then sends Carla over to Gary's, interrupting the bar's big sports event with a video tape of Norm and Cliff reading poetry, and encouraging Gary's patrons to head to Cheers (with half-off drink specials if they mention they came from Gary's).
After the stunt, Gary comes back to Cheers, claiming he concedes defeat, and has a surprise for the bar. Originally, Gary was planning to have ballplayer Wade Boggs come to his bar, but has asked him to go to Cheers instead.
Several are excited, until Carla suggests that this has got to be another stunt by Gary. When 'Wade Boggs' comes by the bar, the gang quickly chase him out of the bar, and return with his pants. The gang celebrates their victory...only to go through 'Wade Boggs'' pants, and find that he really was Wade Boggs.
Frasier says that Gary has managed to trick the gang into pranking themselves, but Carla and the others claim victory when they realize they have something Gary doesn't: Wade Boggs' pants!
