The robbery takes place on a toll bridge, and to catch the robbers going in the opposite direction, Jon turns around. He was on the bridge yet in the subsequent scene he enters a tunnel.
The amount of onions on Ponch's uniform increase in the close up shot.
In the opening close up shots, there is one white pickup behind Jon and Ponch. In the subsequent shot, a line of vehicles are in both lanes behind them, as are a row of orange cones in Jon's lane.
The van the limo swerved to avoid disappears in the following shot.
Even though it is supposed to be rush hour (6-10 AM as evidenced by the diamond lane/multiple occupant requirement sign), there is not enough traffic on the road to make use of the diamond lane worthwhile.
The red car that is hit when the limo crashes is the same 1962 Ford Galaxie from Moving Violation (1977) that was almost hit by the landing airplane. In the earlier appearance, the driver was a white male, whereas in this one the driver was a black male.
When Jon is trying to fix Ponch's TV he sets it on the counter and starts looking at it. When Jon walks away from it to the white board, the TV turns on by itself. Also notice that it was never plugged in and no cable or antenna was hooked to it.
After Jon tells the limo driver to slide over, the camera and camera operator's hand and wristwatch are visible in the window.
The 11-82 call (crash with property damage) goes out as being on Pacific Coast Highway at Palos Verdes Boulevard, which are both large divided highways that are located inland. Upon arrival, the crash is on a smaller undivided road with cars parked alongside it that is adjacent to a body of water with large ships docked alongside the road.
During the briefing, Getraer mentions the "Saint Vincent Thomas bridge" in San Vista. The bridge depicted was the Vincent Thomas bridge between Long Beach and San Pedro.
Jon calls in the limo crash as being the Hollywood Freeway at Belmont. The actual location was the Glendale Freeway south of Verdugo Boulevard, as evidenced by the I-210 sign in the background as Ponch arrives.
When Ponch reads the events Jon is writing about, only one of them had taken place so far in Season 1: "Ponch falls in glue" took place in Pilot (1977). Of the remainder, "Ponch loses motorcycle" and "Ponch falls in the mud" would take place in Green Thumb Burglar (1977), while "Ponch burns hole in pants" would take place in Hustle (1977).
The robbers had such a large head start on Jon that he could not see them, yet he made the exact same multiple turns onto side roads they did until his last turn. Jon later says he ran the plates and they were hot, however he was never close enough to see the plates.
The limo was hit on the driver side. As it spins out, there is no damage to the passenger side. In the following scenes, the passenger side door is damaged from the crash and will not open, so the driver is trapped with the bomb.
Bomb squad protocol for a small object such as the one depicted would be to place it in the secure container that was behind the sheriff's pickup and then remotely detonate it.
Jon and Ponch were going to PM briefing heading over the bridge in one direction, yet after the robbery they depart in the opposite direction instead of resuming their original direction.
After the limo crash, Ponch calls the driver walking back to him by his first name.
