According to Pamelyn Ferdin on Facebook, in the accident scenes, "the script had us making small talk until the ambulance arrived. Larry (Wilcox) and I worked out our own dialogue for that spot. I had just been accepted to nursing school, so we put that in there."
Susie (Pamelyn Ferdin) tells Jon (Larry Wilcox) that she wants to be a nurse. Pamelyn quit acting a little over a year later and indeed did become a nurse.
Although Grossman receives a credit, he has no speaking lines. Similarly, Michael Dorn is present in the briefing room, but he neither speaks nor is credited. Interestingly, he wears glasses even though his character Turner is never pictured wearing glasses after he has been introduced.
Two of the main criminals in this episode go on to play Law enforcement officers in future endeavors. Ambrose (Mills Watson) goes on to play Deputy Perkins in B.J. And the Bear (1978-79) and in the spin-off The misadventures of Sheriff Lobo(1978-81). The drunk driver was played by G.W. Bailey, who went on to star as memorable police officers Lieutenant and later Captain Harris in the Police Academy films, and then Lieutenant Provenza on both The Closer (2005) and Major Crimes (2012).
