Ponch and Jon pass the same billboards twice in the very beginning of the episode.
The rear of the Dodge is obviously weighed down. Apparently, the Dodge has a ramp attached to it.
The title of this episode, "MAIT Team," is redundant, as MAIT stands for Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team, so the title is literally Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team Team.
When the accident is being re-staged, footage from the "real" accident is intercut and appears to be longer and in slow-motion from what was shown earlier. It is here we can see the driver of the small orange car duck down in his seat just before impact underneath the large truck. In the earlier, shorter scene with this car, it appears only that the car is driverless just before impact. Also, in the car that flies into the front of the large truck, we can see in slow motion that the driver appears to be wearing a motorcycle helmet, and that dummies appear to filling the remaining seats in the car.
During the course of the investigation Ponch finds a chrome letter 'R' on the road. The investigation yielded that it belonged to a Ford, however Jon said that no Ford had been involved in the accident when clearly the blue truck is a Ford cab over engine truck.
