M.E.R.V. The robot has a Commodore 64 for a computer keyboard.
The original scene with the fire station door opening utilizes the fire trucks from Emergency! (1972).
The hospital building is the same one that was the Sheriff's jail where Poncherello bailed out his brother's friend in Return to Death's Door (1982).
During the robot demonstration, the chalkboard behind Getrear mentions the CHP Christmas party, indicating the setting is before December 25, even though the air date was January 2.
Contrary to the many law enforcement inaccuracies shown in the series, in the freeway angels stop of the van, several accurate things are portrayed. Bobby Nelson follows the passenger back to the van, an officer safety tactic. Poncherello tells the girls they cannot issue a ticket for a violation they did not see. He then tells Nelson stopping someone for a traffic ticket does not give officers probable cause for a search, and consent of the owner would be the only lawful means to conduct a search.
