- TriviaIn this episode, we get a rare view of the "4th wall" in Mike & Carol's room. During the wall paper sample scene, hanging on the wall behind Mike's shoulder, the framed family photo that was their anniversary gift from the 3rd season is visible.
- GoofsWhen Alice and Carol are preparing the two sofas in the family room for Carol and Mike to sleep on as their bedroom had just been painted, Carol states that this will be the first night that she and Mike have not slept in the same bed since they got married. That statement is an error as they did not sleep together on the night of their first family camping trip, where the males slept in one tent and the females slept in another tent. They also did not sleep together when Alice sprained her ankle while Carol was away tending to an ailing relative.

Marcia Brady: Something suddenly came up.
- Alternate versionsStrangely, the DVD release of this episode didn't have the usual Brady Bunch squares appearing on the screen before the final end teaser, just a fade-out.

I DON'T WANT TO DATE YOUR NOSE!
CLASSIC BRADY BUNCH. 10 plus stars.
You have to admit, Marcia learns a hard lesson. That said, we all felt sooooo sorry for her, and what terrible luck... Marcia has the teen dream to date Doug Simpson (handsome Nicholas Hammond), the high school hunk and football hero of the century.
But what does she tell her regular guy pal, Charley (played by Stuart Goetz). "Something suddenly came up...."
The guys are playing football in the backyard and ---here it comes--- the ball smacks Marcia in the nose and what a nose job! You have to give the makeup folks credit for really re-designing Marcia's schnoz. A little bit of the fakeup makeup is showing, though.
Al Schwartz wrote this OUTSTANDING episode, one of the great comedy writers, who wrote for Lucy, Jackie Gleason and Red Skelton. But this ain't no comedy as you will see.
Poor Marcia has to go to school, doing her best to hide her embarrassment and guess who she meets nose to nose? Plastic man Doug shows his real deal self and drops Marcia like a rock! OMG.
And what about Charley? Charley comes through and steals the show. He's crazy about Marcia, no matter what condition her nose is in. Wow.
It's a shame Charley did not turn up in later episodes, because he really was such a cool guy who all of us guys back in the day could relate to.
Stuart Goetz appeared in many 70s sitcoms at the time, later to become a well known music editor for such series as the VAMPIRE DIARIES. But we will always remember him for this episode.
Nicholas Hammond, who was one of the famous children (Friedrich) in the SOUND OF MUSIC, of course went on to star as tv's SPIDERMAN, and later the 70s movie sequels.
A story all us kids of the 70s will never forget, especially that one morning when Marcia wakes up and her real nose is back!
From SEASON 4 ABC/Paramount dvd box set.
