A very rich dead man who once tried unsuccessfully to bribe Rex Randolph gets back at him from the grave, while nailing his two ne'er do well children at the same time. His will provides that his adult children can't get their inheritance until Rex verifies under oath that they did not kill him, but big caveat - if Rex is prevented from verifying it within 6 months, the children get the money. A fifty-thousand dollar fee has cash-strapped Rex in a bind - take the job and risk somebody killing him fast to get the money, or turn it down and lose money he himself needs? Add in a very enticing adult daughter and Rex is really facing a dangerous temptation.
