A Good Witch, A Bad Witch, or Not A Witch At All
DKosty1234 November 2009
The cases in this one are both quite compelling in the court room. Considering the original broadcast was on All Saints Day, this show was made for it. Alan going after the government is to become a very frequent event in this series, & he does it well here.

The attitude of the Wican couple is quite well done by the script & the acting. Henry Gibson, now the late actor, does one of his many cases as a judge here & he is an excellent choice as a judge for this series. Overall a very satisfying script & episode. This show often takes political footballs and tosses them around very effectively. It often is a good measure of how these issues should be addressed but in reality often are not.

Two Cases for Which There Can Be No Real Winner

First of all, bringing a case against the Army during wartime is not going to get traction. The judge has no right to rule any other way than he does. So the high road is the opportunity to express feelings. The war in the Mideast, especially Afghanistan, continued forever, longer than any US involvement in history. And people went about their daily lives with little knowledge of what was going on. Bodies came back and their coffins were placed in empty hangars. Alan was right. The Halloween thing was silly and wasteful. Especially since the polarized sides teamed up. It's one thing to disparage one's religion specifically; quite another to simply come up with an extended costume party. I think Halloween is overblown and feeds into entitlement that is rampant; but I'm an old fuddy duddy. So be it. I have the choice of dealing with it however I wish, not to dictate what others can do.
