Barney finally moves back home
kevinolzak4 June 2014
"Open House" finds the 12th Precinct getting the squad room ready for an open house, with Levitt providing food and refreshments for all the incoming guests (Harris waits for the pate de foie gras). Already a veteran of four episodes, John Dullaghan here debuts as derelict Ray Brewer, making his first appearance at the 12th, the first person to arrive for the open house, only two others to follow (David Fresco as Monty would be back for Ray's next appearance). Allan Miller (first of four) plays a psychiatrist treating an arsonist (Christopher Lloyd, second of two) who has trouble with women. Barney happily reports that he's leaving the Greenwich Hotel to move back home to his wife and family, but is unable to recover his deposit from hotel management. Rather than allow them to double book the room for additional revenue, Barney offers his room key to Ray and his two hobo buddies, earning the admiration of his men (Harris: "I would have done exactly the same thing!" Dietrich: "I admire you Captain...it isn't very often a person has a chance to do something for his fellow human beings, and stick it to a hotel at the same time!").
