- [Londo Mollari asks Lord Refa to sever his relationship with the Shadows]
- Lord Refa: Oh Londo, you are a fool. You walked away from the greatest power I have ever seen. Now you expect me to do the same? They are the key to my eventual rise to the throne! Why would I abandon them?
- Londo Mollari: Because I have asked you. Because your loyalty to our people should be greater than your ambition. And because I have poisoned your drink.
- Londo Mollari: Only an idiot fights a war on two fronts. Only the heir to the throne of the kingdom of idiots would fight a war on twelve fronts.
- Marcus Cole: [after beating someone for information] It's like I always say, you get more with a kind word and a two-by-four than with just a kind word.
- Delenn: You should trust me enough to talk to me, Marcus. Why are you so reluctant to take part in the rebirth ceremony?
- Marcus Cole: You asked me to give something up, Delenn. I don't have anything left. It's all gone. My brother was the last of our family and he died because of my stupidity. He warned me of the Shadows; I didn't listen. And when they came, I lost, him, our home, the colony where we'd grown up, a woman I was quite fond of. I escaped with only the clothes on my back, and went off in search of these "Rangers" that he'd been going on about. Because he believed in them, and in you. Everything I was, everything I had, all of it, died that night. I don't have anything left to give.
- Delenn: Then that is exactly what you must give up. Yes, you have lost much, endured much, sacrificed greatly. But you cling to the memory of your sacrifices, of all the things you have lost or left behind. They drag behind you, like chains of your own making. They can have a terrible power over you, Marcus: the power of grief, and loss, and regret. Yes, you have let go of the people, places and things, but you have not let go of the pain. You have not forgiven yourself.
- Marcus Cole: For what?
- Delenn: Being alive.
- Sparky the Computer: Oh, not that my feelings would have any meaning for you, but why are you having these people poke me all over the place. I'm a perfectly reasonable Artificial Personality. Nobody's ever complained before, but I guess some people just aren't happy unless they're messing it up for everyone else. You know, you really should stand up straight. Your mother and I have been worried about this for years. We've been trying to talk to you about it but...
- [Garabaldi draws his gun and shoots the speaker]
- [Garabaldi has reset the command codes and rebooted the computer]
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: God, I hate this part. I'm always afraid I've broken something.
- Michael Garabaldi: It'll be fine. I've done this before.
- [the computer restarts]
- Michael Garabaldi: Ah, Told ya. Computer
- [pause]
- Michael Garabaldi: Computer?
- Sparky the Computer: Hey, what do you want?
- Michael Garabaldi: Run diagnostics.
- Sparky the Computer: What, you got a broken arm or something? I got a station to run here!
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: Computer.
- Sparky the Computer: I know, do a diagnostic. So, maybe Level 42 doesn't get its quota of oxygen today because I'm distracted, but if it makes you happy!
- Michael Garabaldi: Stop!
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: Garabaldi?
- Michael Garabaldi: I just remembered, they tried to install Artificial Intelligence subroutines when the station went operational. They shut it down right away because it didn't work right. Must have come back on-line when the system re-booted.
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: Great! How do we shut it down?
- Sparky the Computer: I heard that! Are you two easily offended, or what?
- [Marcus has just cleared out a bar, single-handedly]
- Lennier: I see they trained you well back home.
- Marcus Cole: Well, they said I was carrying around a lot of repressed anger.
- Lennier: And?
- Marcus Cole: I'm not repressed anymore!
- Capt. John Sheridan: [the command staff visits Delenn in Medlab, one by one] Hello, Delenn. You know, I was thinking -- if you couldn't come to the Rebirth ceremony, the ceremony should come to you. I've given up something that really mattered to me: the uniform and everything that goes with it. What I've never told anyone before now... when you were in my arms, I was ready to kill that guy with my bare hands. I realized I never told you how much I care about you... how much you mean to me. I think it's time you knew that. I can no longer imagine my world without you in it. I don't know exactly when or how it happened. I'm glad it did.
- [Sheridan leaves, Garibaldi enters]
- Michael Garabaldi: No one knows... I'm afraid all the time -- what I might do if I ever let go.
- [Garibaldi leaves, Ivanova enters]
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: I think I... loved... Talia.
- [Ivanova leaves, Franklin enters]
- Dr. Stephen Franklin: I, uh... think I have a problem.
- Sparky the Computer: You know, you look very stressed. This is not good. Hey, how about something to eat? Maybe a nice piece of briskit? Go suck an orange!
- Michael Garabaldi: Would somebody please fix this thing before I go out of my mind!
- Delenn: The rebirth ceremony was part of your training on Minbar.
- Marcus Cole: I missed it. I overslept.
- Delenn: It lasts all day!
- Marcus Cole: Oh, yes. I was ill.
- Capt. John Sheridan: [to one of the people who held Delenn hostage] No more! No more of you! No more Nightwatch! No more hostages! No more LIES! Not on my station! Not on my watch! NO MORE!
- [the command staff have used their command code passwords to reset the station's computer system]
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: Peekaboo?
- Michael Garabaldi: Would you have guessed it?
- Thug #1: We don't talk to security. Why should we talk to you?
- Marcus Cole: Because if you don't, then in five minutes, I will be the only person at this table still standing.
- [Thug starts laughing]
- Marcus Cole: . Five minutes after that, I'll be the only person in this room still standing.
- Marcus Cole: [to the last two conscious people in the room] Where... is... she?
- Thug: I - I -I don't know! I'd tell you if I knew.
- Marcus Cole: Then you know someone who knows someone who knows something! ANSWER ME!
- [one thug tries to attack, Marcus knocks both of them out]
- Marcus Cole: Bugger! Now I have to wait for someone to wake up.
- [first lines]
- [Several transports are leaving B5]
- Capt. John Sheridan: Are those the last of the Nightwatch?
- Cmdr. Susan Ivanova: Well, it's the last batch we could find. Garibaldi's still trying to track down the rest. The others are civilians heading back for Earth, Mars, and the colonies on Proxima and Orion.
- [last lines]
- Capt. John Sheridan: The crisis, for now, is over. Tell the ships we're open for business.
