- A helicopter crash prompts businessman Henry Innis to stonewall his company's sale while he looks into possible defective parts. His partner, Jarrett Powers, tries to talk him into forgetting about it but Henry is determined. He speaks to Edward Scanlin, the man who "secured" loans for them a while back when they needed cash. Edward plays along but kills him and makes it look like a mugging.
In the meantime, Walter asks Automan to look at some criminal profile tapes but Automan views the soap opera, Abilene, instead and realizes he's never felt love or passion. When he comes up with a lead to a singles bar, Auto goes against Walter's wishes and goes there, almost picking up 2 women.
Henry's daughter, Rachel, also goes to the singles bar to find out what happened to her father. At first Walter has a hard time getting her to share until she meets Auto and they connect, a la soap opera style. He has her introduce him as a millionaire who decides to step in to buy the company at the last minute. Scanlin has him checked out but still doesn't believe that he is who he says he is. When Auto and Rachel leave to go back to her house where she shows him a disc with the information that ties the company to the faulty parts that caused the helicopter crash. Scanlin finds them at Rachel's house and a fight ensues. Scanlin takes Rachel hostage and drives away but Auto and Walter chase after him and, with cursor's help, stop Scanlin.
