"What are you, demented!?" Warning: Spoilers
Sssss... A kid is given a cursed hockey stick by a mysterious spooky cloaked figure who lurks in a more sinister cobwebbed corner of the hockey stalls just waiting for struggling young players to trick and capture forever by turning them into snakes, which is the price they pay for getting better at hockey! The 'man', Jake the Snake of the title, used to be a human being but is now a giant snake in disguise, the hockey stick is likewise, a snake in disguise! Wiley, not being the smartest kind of dude ever, accepts the clearly evil stranger's offer and as he gets better at the game and grows more popular he turns into a real jerk and begins to shed gross skin flakes and his friend sticks by him(Lord knows why!) and saves him from becoming one of Jake's slithery brethren! I love this one, I think they did a really good job with it, I mean the plot is pretty ridiculous, but it's really not as bad or dumb as I probably made it sound in my plot description. I love all the scenes with Jake the Snake and how he remains hooded and draped in shadow and you never really see him, just his scaly hands and eyes and fangs, it makes him more creepy. He's so hilariously on the nose with all of his oozing malevolent remarks. It also tickles me the way Wiley's friend shows genuine concern for the physical and mean behavioural changes in his buddy, and all Wiley can do is accuse him of being jealous because he's a 'pro' and storm off! I also really like young James Hayes Liboiron as he was really cute and funny when he's acting goofy in his room making crowd noises and when he almost eats the mouse! The guy actually looked like he was having a blast being in this episode. I still have crazy love for these tales, they're still so much fun and dead easy to get into and are nostalgic in a nice way and this to me is one of the stranger ones, it's silly, funny, creepy fun, and and is pure Are You Afraid of the Dark awesomeness-ssssssss!!!!
