Gail Davis: Annie Oakley
Quotes
-
[to Tagg and Roy]
Annie Oakley : And you fellas listen to me. I know a jackknife is standard male equipment, but you're going to have to learn that can't use them like a tomahawk!
-
[Jessup has offered to buy the Wheeler's ranch for a third of what its worth]
Annie Oakley : You must be a pretty sharp trader, Mr. Jessup. Are you by any chance associated with Wenton and Dale?
Frank Jessup : I don't anything about Wenton and Dale except, of course, they're the largest ranch brokers in the West.
Annie Oakley : Well, if you wanted to buy a ranch, why didn't you deal through them?
Frank Jessup : My dear young woman, I don't think how I deal and who I deal with is any of your business.
Annie Oakley : Did you say *deal* or *steal*?
-
Annie Oakley : Lofty, sometimes I think I'll have to marry you.
Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig : Annie, will you? When?
Annie Oakley : Oh, wait just a minute - I didn't say I would, I said I might have to.
-
[last lines]
Annie Oakley : Lofty, I swear I will have to marry you!
Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig : Now?
Annie Oakley : Some day.
-
Mrs. Wheeler : Land sakes, what's so important about the Big Sink? As far as I can see, it's just like all the rest of the land around here. The graze is poor. Somebody told me once that it was a volcano a zillion years ago.
Annie Oakley : Well, that's what the geologist calls a fault, Mrs Wheeler, a slippage of the rock strata. Say, maybe there's a river or a lake under it.
Mrs. Wheeler : Land sakes, would you listen to that girl. Where'd you learn all that, Annie?
-
Tagg Oakley : He's up there, Annie, I seen the smoke when he fired. Cut him down. You can do it.
Annie Oakley : Saw the smoke, Tagg. I can't reach him with the six-shooter against that rifle.
Tagg Oakley : Gee, you gotta let that guy shoot at us all day?
Annie Oakley : He's not trying to hit us, Tagg. If he really wanted to hit us, all he'd have to do is raise his sights a little.
-
Annie Oakley : You know, Mrs Wheeler, there's a joker in this. A big, black, dirty joker. And I think I know what it is. Can you ride a horse?
Mrs. Wheeler : CAN I RIDE A HORSE! I can ride a horse, throw a rope, brand a calf, and shoot a rifle.
[And she looks like such a delicate petal]
