This episode is one of those that goes down in the category of the best laid plans
of mice and men. There is to be a charity auction at Dino's the place where Kookie used to and JR parks cars right next to the Bailey&Spencer offices. Society
women are all wearing their best furs and jewels and Earl Hammond and a group
of crooks among them an old flame of Stu Bailey's Dianne Foster will be there.
Efrem Zimbalist is there along with Edd Byrnes and Louis Quinn as part of the
staff of Dino's for the event. But Zimbalist's recognition of Foster and veteran
cop Robert Armstrong's recognition of Edward Colman as a crime medico trips
up the plan for it to go peaceful.
Foster is one hardbitten dame and the climax is right out of The Maltese Falcon.
This is one of the best episodes of the series, a tension filled thriller.
