  Audrey Raines : We don't know that for sure: what we do know Jack's field decision saved over eight hundred innocent people

  Lynn McGill : In the long term, it'll cost us a hundred times that many people

  Audrey Raines : In the meantime, we've contained the physical threat and the media's awareness, which would've triggered massive civil unrest

  Lynn McGill : You tell yourself that if you want to: the facts remains these terrorists are at large. Nineteen canisters of Sentox nerve gas and we don't know where or when they're going to hit us next

  Bill Buchanan : We're all aware of the situation

  Lynn McGill : Why does she keep defending Bauer? I want Bauer placed in custody, I want him brought in here, I want him held responsible of what's happened

  Bill Buchanan : Jack can be disciplined later. Taking him out of the field right now is a mistake

  Lynn McGill : [Sternly]  don't tell me how to do my job

  Bill Buchanan : He was authorized by the President

  Lynn McGill : But he works for me and so do you. I want him here now: the rest of you maintain your search protocols. Send your progress reports to my screen in ten minutes

• James Nathanson : [Over the phone]  if you try to trace this call or put anyone else on the line, I'll hang up

  Audrey Raines : Who is this?

  James Nathanson : My name's James Nathanson, I'm sure Walt Cummings has told you all about me

  Audrey Raines : You're the one who sold the nerve gas to the terrorists

  James Nathanson : That's close enough to "the truth"

  Audrey Raines : What'd you want?

  James Nathanson : Transfer me to Jack Bauer on a clean line

  Audrey Raines : Why Jack?

  James Nathanson : That's not your concern

  Audrey Raines : Your getting to Jack through me: that makes it my concern

  James Nathanson : I'm going through you because you have a "special" relationship with Bauer, I know all about you, which is why I'm counting on you to recognize an "opportunity" when it presents itself

  Audrey Raines : What "opportunity?"

  James Nathanson : I can help you find this nerve gas

  Audrey Raines : How do I know your telling the truth?

  James Nathanson : You don't, now put me through to Bauer

• Audrey Raines : [Over the phone]  what I'm about to tell you has to stay between us

  Audrey Raines : [after Chloe doesn't respond]  it involves Jack

  Chloe O'Brian : What is going on? It just came on my screen that Jack's gone missing?

  Audrey Raines : His following a lead on the Sentox gas: he needed to go alone, I just transferred a phone call from my station to him. I need you to delete the record

  Chloe O'Brian : If Lynn finds out we're working behind his back...

  Audrey Raines : [Interrupts her]  I know believe me, this is the only way, there isn't a lot of time

  Chloe O'Brian : When did you make the call?

  Chloe O'Brian : [after seeing the records]  I found the transfer, I can't just dump the one call, their all cross-indexed

  Audrey Raines : Can't you unlink it?

  Chloe O'Brian : No, it takes like two hours. The only way to get rid of the entry is to delete the entire log: all the calls made and received today

  Audrey Raines : Do it

• Audrey Raines : [Over the phone, after Jack patching Jack into this conversation]  I'm on the phone with a man who claims to be "James Nathanson." he was Walt Cummings' contact: he says he has information about the terrorists but he'll only talk to you

  Jack Bauer : Why me?

  James Nathanson : You can hang up now Ms. Raines: my phone has a node monitor, I'll know if anyone else comes on this line

  Audrey Raines : Jack?

  Jack Bauer : [to Audrey]  It's alright, hang up the phone

  Jack Bauer : [to James]  What'd you want with me?

  James Nathanson : Protection. The terrorists your after are trying to kill me

  Jack Bauer : The terrorists figured out you're the one who rigged the canisters, the Sentox will blow up in their faces, what'd you need me for? Just turn yourself into the authorities, they'll protect you

  James Nathanson : Walt Cummings isn't the only one in this operation who works inside the government, I need your help

  Jack Bauer : You conspired to have me take the fall for the assassination: what makes you think I'm not going to kill you myself?

  James Nathanson : Because you want to stop the Sentox nerve gas from being released on US soil, so do I

  Jack Bauer : Where are you?

  James Nathanson : There a phone booth on the south side of Mort Park, just east of Densmore, be there in ten minutes or I'll be gone

• Audrey Raines : [Talking privately]  DOD wants a fuller explanation about what happened at the mall, I told them we're still trying to find a thread on the nerve gas

  Bill Buchanan : I just spent the last five minutes getting grilled by Lynn

  Audrey Raines : About what?

  Bill Buchanan : You and Jack: your relationship

  Audrey Raines : What'd you tell him?

  Bill Buchanan : The truth, that you and he were once romantically involved, now I'm not sure

  Audrey Raines : I don't see how that's any of his business

  Bill Buchanan : He thinks it is. He thinks you had something to do with Jack breaking from custody

  Bill Buchanan : [after she becomes silent]  did you?

  Audrey Raines : Not exactly

  Bill Buchanan : What the hell does that mean?

  Audrey Raines : A man claimed to be James Nathanson called here about twenty minutes ago and he said he had information on the terrorists that he would only give it to Jack

  Bill Buchanan : Why didn't you tell me about this?

  Audrey Raines : was afraid of losing this lead, I don't know what to do

  Bill Buchanan : Jack's meeting with this man Nathanson alone? Without backup? Where is he?

  Audrey Raines : I don't know, Nathanson dropped me off the call

  Bill Buchanan : Who else knows about this?

  Audrey Raines : Just Chloe, she helped me cover the call from Lynn
