- Chloe O'Brian: This Lynn McGill person is really slowing things down.
- Spenser Wolff: Yeah, that's his style. I worked with him once before. He usually loses about twenty percent of his staff in the first couple of days after taking control of a new office.
- Chloe O'Brian: That many people quit?
- Spenser Wolff: No. Most of them were fired.
- Lynn McGill: [after entering the situation room] Mr. Buchanan, I assume they told you I was coming?
- Bill Buchanan: [while shaking hands] Lynn, please call me "Bill"
- Lynn McGill: If we were having a beer or something but if we're at work its better if we maintain a more "formal" mode of address
- Bill Buchanan: Whatever makes you feel more comfortable. Look, we're in the middle of a final prep here
- Lynn McGill: I know, I understand President Logan wants us to go into the terminal as soon as possible
- Bill Buchanan: Yes, before the treaty is signed
- Lynn McGill: Is Curtis Manning ready to send his teams in?
- Bill Buchanan: [Points to communication monitor with no signal] he is, but we're "flying blind"
- Lynn McGill: My briefing sheet says we have Jack Bauer on the inside
- Bill Buchanan: And we haven't heard from him for close to twenty minutes now
- Lynn McGill: That's interesting
- Bill Buchanan: I read the bulletin from Division but I still don't know why your here?
- Lynn McGill: District was getting "heat" from the White House
- Bill Buchanan: "Heat" about what?
- Lynn McGill: Jack Bauer, they just want to know things are running smoothly
- Bill Buchanan: We're on track
- Lynn McGill: Oh, I'm sure you are: that's my assignment. Is your tactical wired through all the servers?
- Bill Buchanan: Yes it is, you can go ahead and plug into station four
- Lynn McGill: I prefer to work from your office Mr. Buchanan, I hate to displace you but I think I should have a central vantage point and just want to make sure your ok working from another station
- Bill Buchanan: Fine
- Lynn McGill: Good, and it's not a big deal but just so everyone's clear on the chain of command I think you should address me as "Mr. McGill" in front of the others
- Bill Buchanan: You know, I'd rather not
- Lynn McGill: Just a suggestion, anyway I need your office and that's not a "suggestion"
- Bill Buchanan: What is it Lynn? I'm up to my ears with this operation
- Lynn McGill: Sit down Mr. Buchanan
- Bill Buchanan: Can you stop it with the "Mr. Buchanan"? We need to get this assault in motion now
- Lynn McGill: Sit down Bill
- Lynn McGill: I informed the White House the rescue operation is back on track
- Bill Buchanan: [after sitting down] thank you
- Lynn McGill: I must admit though I feel real inappropriate talking about an operation I didn't personally review so before you send your men into the terminal, I'd like to see the "playbook"
- Bill Buchanan: [Stands up] I can't have you micromanage my work, if you want to do my job, let me know and I'll go home
- Lynn McGill: Please don't be defensive. I'm not challenging you, I'm just trying to do my job
- Bill Buchanan: I'll have Chloe send it to your laptop, anything else?
- Lynn McGill: That's all for now
- Lynn McGill: [Before he leaves his office] Bill, fighting me isn't going to increase our chances of saving those people's lives
- Mike Novick: Good news Sir: CTU's reestablished contact with Jack Bauer, the rescue operation is back on track
- President Charles Logan: But that's still no guarantee
- Mike Novick: Excuse me Sir?
- President Charles Logan: The hostages may be killed when we go in there. Let's be honest, that's more likely than not
- Mike Novick: We don't know that Sir, President Suvarov is waiting for you outside
- President Charles Logan: He is?
- Mike Novick: You're all walking out together onto the stage. We all agreed to the protocol
- President Charles Logan: It's time already?
- Mike Novick: Yes Sir
- Walt Cummings: Your aware Mrs. Logan was found in one of the archive rooms?
- Evelyn Martin: I don't know anything about that
- Walt Cummings: Aaron Pierce said you lied to him: you told him Mrs. Logan was in her room when she was actually going through classified documents. I don't think you understand how "grave" the situation is
- Evelyn Martin: What'd you mean?
- Walt Cummings: Mrs. Logan removed a document from the archive that contains highly sensitive intelligence protocols
- Evelyn Martin: That's not what she said it was
- Walt Cummings: What exactly did she say she took?
- Evelyn Martin: I think she should talk to her about this
- Walt Cummings: [Sternly] this is important: what did she tell you?
- Evelyn Martin: She said it was a transcript of a call she had with David Palmer
- Walt Cummings: You're aware if this document finds its way into the wrong hands, you'll be held responsible?
- Evelyn Martin: I'm not the one who took it
- Walt Cummings: You aided and abetted. You'll not only lose your job, you'll be prosecuted
- Evelyn Martin: That's not fair. I tried to talk her out of this
- Walt Cummings: All I'm asking is you tell me where did she put it?
- Evelyn Martin: [Reluctantly] she has it with her, it's in her blouse. She said she wouldn't let it out of her sight until she talked to the President about it
- Bill Buchanan: Lynn, I owe you an apology
- Lynn McGill: For what?
- Bill Buchanan: If you hadn't recognized the duress code, Jack transmitted...
- Lynn McGill: Bill, you're the reason I figured out what he was doing
- Bill Buchanan: What'd you mean?
- Lynn McGill: I admit I was suspicious of Mr. Bauer, but you were so adamant about his integrity that I looked for a way to reconcile the contradiction: so thank you. I assume Mr. Bauer's been taken into custody?
- Bill Buchanan: We'll have time to debrief him here but not as a suspect
- Lynn McGill: Well, he hasn't been officially cleared in the deaths of David Palmer, Tony Almeida, or Michelle Dessler
- Audrey Raines: Well, based on mitigating evidence, and Chloe O'Brian's testimony: we're confident Jack was framed for murders
- Lynn McGill: I appreciate that but it still doesn't change our "entangled" situation. We have surveillance footage of places Jack Bauer at the site of David Palmer's as assassination
- Bill Buchanan: Clearly, it was doctored
- Lynn McGill: Not according to preliminary tests. If we're going to get to the bottom of this, Jack Bauer has a lot to answer for. Bring him in: now
- Curtis Manning: [Over the phone with Bill and Lynn connected through] Jack, what happened?
- Jack Bauer: One of the hostiles got too close, I had to end the transmission
- Curtis Manning: Alright, we'll start again then
- Jack Bauer: Negative Curtis, we need to scrap the existing plan: find a new breach point
- Curtis Manning: My men are already in position
- Lynn McGill: Then move the hostages away from the "kill zone." They'll be taken out with crossfire, there's an emergency door just south of gate twelve, it's unguarded, and you should be able to push through with opposition
- Curtis Manning: I see it but I'm not comfortable with this entry point
- Lynn McGill: It's the only shot we've got
- Curtis Manning: Are you there now?
- Jack Bauer: Yes, it's clear. I'm in a "flank 2" position. I repeat, I'm in a "flank 2" position
- Lynn McGill: Curtis how long can your teams redeploy?
- Curtis Manning: About twenty minutes
- Lynn McGill: The President's going to sign the treaty within thirty minutes
- Curtis Manning: I'll go as fast as I can
- Lynn McGill: [Rushing into the conference room] stop the assault
- Bill Buchanan: [to Audrey] get Curtis on the horn
- Bill Buchanan: [to Lynn] what're you talking about?
- Lynn McGill: Their walking into a trap: look at the transcript
- Lynn McGill: [after opening his laptop] when Jack issued the command directive, he used the term "flank two"
- Bill Buchanan: Yes, he was trying to give us his position inside the terminal
- Lynn McGill: No, he wasn't, "flank two" is a duress code used to indicate the agent is communicating under duress
- Bill Buchanan: We ran Jack's calls through a protocol filter: if there'd been a duress signal in there, we would've found it
- Lynn McGill: You filtered it through the current codes. When Jack was active, "flank two" is a duress code
- Bill Buchanan: [to Chloe] run that
- Lynn McGill: Jack's trying to tell us his being used to send misinformation. If Cutis Manning's team goes in now, they'll be ambushed
- Chloe O'Brian: [after checking their filters] his right
- Bill Buchanan: [Over the speakerphone] Curtis, abort the countdown, repeat, abort, abort
- Curtis Manning: Stand down, all teams stand down. We're aborting entry, confirm we're standing down. What's wrong Bill?
- Bill Buchanan: We detected a duress code in Jack's call: we have to assume the terrorists are feeding him the information he gave us. Redeploy your men to the original assault plan, and do not contact Jack, if Jack contacts you, buy time
