- Jack Bauer: Take my gun.
- [Dina hesitates]
- Jack Bauer: This has to look as convincing as possible, take my gun!
- Dina Araz: You must know that I want to kill you.
- Jack Bauer: Yes. But you won't because of Behrooz.
- [Tony has a temporary assignment with CTU]
- Tony Almeida: You know, Edgar, you weren't paying attention. Look, we can't afford for you to be losing focus at a time like this, all right?
- Edgar Stiles: I'm sick of people talking to me like I don't know what I'm doing! Especially people who don't really work here!
- Edgar Stiles: Chloe, what are you doing here?
- Chloe O'Brian: Michelle thought you could use some help. Offload your tasklist to me at station twelve, I'll cover your overflow.
- Edgar Stiles: I can handle my assignment!
- Chloe O'Brian: Well, obviously, you can't, otherwise Michelle wouldn't have called me in.
- Jack Bauer: [Over the phone] I need you to listen to me: Paul's been shot
- Audrey Raines: How bad is it?
- Jack Bauer: The medics are working on him, we'll be there in a few minutes
- Audrey Raines: How did this happen?
- Jack Bauer: We were securing the area. One of the gunmen tried to shoot me, Paul pushed me out of the way: he saved my life
- Audrey Raines: I don't know what to say
- Jack Bauer: You don't have to say anything. The surgeons have been notified, their standing by, I want you to know we're going to do everything that we have to, you understand that?
- Audrey Raines: Yeah, I understand
- James Heller: [Over the phone] all the evidence that we've gathered: confirms this one man Habib Marwan is directly responsible for everything that's happened today. The train derailment, my abduction, and the sabotage of our nuclear power plants
- President John Keeler: Does any of your evidence suggest that his planning more attacks?
- James Heller: I'm afraid so, NSA is reporting a spike in their chatter. Their sifting through the Intel now, trying to determine potential targets, and timeframes
- President John Keeler: Trying, is not good enough. We need to preempt any further attacks
- James Heller: I understand Sir, our best chance of doing so is capturing Marwan
- President John Keeler: How close are you?
- James Heller: Jack Bauer recovered a document we believe contains contact data on Marwan's network. CTU is using it to track Marwan
- President John Keeler: And if that fails?
- James Heller: Mr. President, we just have to hope that it doesn't
- President John Keeler: Today's events have continued to generate an unprecedented level of fear. I'm not sure the social and civil fabric of this country can withstand another attack, we need to make previsions
- James Heller: Previsions?
- President John Keeler: The civil unrest that I believe is inevitable in the event of another terrorist strike
- James Heller: Are you saying we should impose Martial Law?
- President John Keeler: I've asked General Whitfield to meet with you in Los Angeles to discuss our options
- James Heller: When?
- President John Keeler: Now, his plane landed: he'll be calling you to confirm a secure location, and keep this between us
- James Heller: Of course Mr. President
- Tony Almeida: [Briefing Jack] his name is Joseph Fayed, associate professor at Greene University, chemical engineering, came to the US in 1985 to get his graduate degree
- Curtis Manning: We're sending in a tactical team to pick him up now
- Jack Bauer: That's a mistake
- Curtis Manning: Why?
- Jack Bauer: With everything we've seen today, Marwan vetted his inner circle very carefully: that man will die before he says anything
- Tony Almeida: You're probably right but what can we do besides arrest Fayed?
- Jack Bauer: Send someone in undercover, take a chance, they might lead you to Marwan
- Tony Almeida: Come on, we don't have the time to put one of our own people undercover
- Jack Bauer: I'm not talking about one of our own people: Dina Araz
- Curtis Manning: [to Jack] she's already made her deal. We granted her son immunity, we have nothing left to offer her
- Jack Bauer: Maybe, maybe not. Let me talk to her while you mobilize a tactical team, if I can't get her to cooperate by the time their ready, send them in but it's simple: we either find Marwan or we will not be able to stop what his planning next
- Captain John Hansen: So what's this all about? What're you doing?
- Nicole: [while pointing a gun at him] I'm delivering you to someone
- Captain John Hansen: Who?
- Nicole: I don't know
- Captain John Hansen: You don't know who you work for?
- Nicole: I work for myself
- Captain John Hansen: Somebody's paying you?
- Captain John Hansen: I don't ask them who they are: they don't tell me. That's how I stay alive
- Jack Bauer: [while in an interrogation room, showing her a picture of Fayed] do you recognize this man?
- Jack Bauer: No
- Jack Bauer: His connected to Marwan
- Dina Araz: I don't know him, I already told the other agent: Marwan doesn't permit communication between cells
- Jack Bauer: His name is Joseph Fayed, his a professor at Greene University
- Dina Araz: You know more about him than I do
- Jack Bauer: His also our only way to reach Marwan. We can't do that without your help
- Dina Araz: Why should I help you? I've already got all I'm going to get for cooperating
- Jack Bauer: That's not necessarily true, I know you love your son, you've already shown me that today but unless you help us to get to Fayed, that'll be the last time you see him for the rest of your life. I'm offering you your freedom. You and Behrooz will be put in the Witness Protection Program: we will give you new names, identities, everything. This is what you told me you wanted, I'm offering you a life with your son. Right now the question is which life do you want?
- Dina Araz: What do you need me to do?
- Jack Bauer: I need you to go to Fayed and tell him that you need to speak to Marwan
- Dina Araz: He won't let me through his front door, let alone get me near Marwan
- Jack Bauer: He will when you tell him you've got a hostage that can help him
- Dina Araz: A hostage? Who?
- Jack Bauer: Me
- Michelle Dessler: Is there a problem with Edgar?
- Tony Almeida: His mother was "caught" in a contamination zone at the San Gabriel reactor: she took her own life. Up to now his been handling it pretty well but it might be catching up with him
- Michelle Dessler: Do you think his in a good enough shape to run the COMM part of this operation?
- Tony Almeida: Based on what just happened? No
- Michelle Dessler: Where's Chloe? I didn't see her on the active roster
- Tony Almeida: Driscoll forced her to resign
- Michelle Dessler: Why?
- Tony Almeida: Apparently Chloe went against Driscoll's orders: sided with Jack, turns out Jack was right
- Tony Almeida: [while in an interrogation room with Jack, after placing a folder in front of her] why don't you to look over the timeline? We'll talk through the details
- Dina Araz: [Before closing the folder] I'm not doing anything until I see my son
- Tony Almeida: We don't have time for that right now
- Dina Araz: Seeing my son is non negotiable
- Jack Bauer: [after gesturing to Tony to leave the room] you need to learn every aspect of the cover story: your life depends on it
- Dina Araz: Don't worry about me
- Jack Bauer: You can see your son but only for a minute, let's go
- Behrooz Araz: [while hugging in an interrogation room, with Jack standing nearby] they wouldn't tell me where you were or even if I was going to see you again
- Dina Araz: We're going to be together
- Behrooz Araz: What're you talking about? They wouldn't let you come with me
- Dina Araz: Everything has changed, I agreed to do something for them and let me go with you
- Behrooz Araz: What'd they want you to do?
- Dina Araz: Help them find Marwan
- Behrooz Araz: His too dangerous
- Dina Araz: I can handle Marwan
- Behrooz Araz: Please mom, no
- Dina Araz: Don't worry, I'll be fine
