Dr. Nicole Duncan : I just finished running Macer's epidemiological model, her estimates were off

Dr. Nicole Duncan : Are you feeling ok?
Jack Bauer : Yeah, why?
Dr. Nicole Duncan : You're perspiring
Jack Bauer : It's been nonstop since noon. Look, we're going to be about eight minutes out. It'd be great if we can go over the quarantine protocols before we get there

Jack Bauer : [while wearing a hazmat suit] Mr. and Mrs. Singer?
Sam Singer : What the hell is going on here? This is not just about drugs
Jack Bauer : I think you've been exposed to a virus
Sam Singer : A virus?
Jack Bauer : It's called Cordilla Virus, we think your son carried it in from Mexico without knowing it
Sam Singer : What'd you mean "carried it in"? How?
Jack Bauer : He thought he was carrying drugs
Sam Singer : So we've been exposed?
Jack Bauer : 'I'm afraid so
Sam Singer : What does that mean? Are we sick?
Jack Bauer : We're going to have to keep you quarantined until we get the results back from your test
Jack Bauer : [Answering his phone inside the helmet in the hazmat suit] yeah this is Bauer
Tony Almeida : It's Tony
Jack Bauer : I think Kyle Singer's been exposed
Tony Almeida : Yeah, we've already got an all points out on him
Jack Bauer : Have you set up a perimeter?
Tony Almeida : We're doing everything we can to contain this thing: all agencies, all departments are in the loop on a "need to know" basis
Jack Bauer : Ok good work
Tony Almeida : Listen, I know this isn't the best time to tell you this but I just got some bad news you want to know about
Jack Bauer : What's wrong?
Tony Almeida : Luis Annicon was murdered
Jack Bauer : Murdered? How?
Tony Almeida : Salazar's guard. We got him in custody, he claims Salazar has his son kidnapped and threatened to kill him if he didn't do it. I'm sorry, I know you two worked closely on this case

Jack Bauer : What the hell are you doing? You haven't showered down yet
Dr. Nicole Duncan : We're not at risk
Jack Bauer : What're you talking about? I watched the powder get out
Jack Bauer : It's harmless, some of silicate: that's all
Jack Bauer : What?
Dr. Nicole Duncan : There is no virus in the powder, we tested five samples, and there weren't even trace sample amounts. Atmospheric and surface analysis also came up negative and Kyle's parents tested negative as well
Jack Bauer : You're sure about this?
Dr. Nicole Duncan : The only thing I'm not sure about is if we're on the right trail
Jack Bauer : No, the body that was dropped off at Health Services was linked to Kyle Singer. Why would Salazar's people pay him to bring across a bag of worthless powder?
Dr. Nicole Duncan : Fine, but where do we even start looking?
Jack Bauer : I don't know. Wait a second, Macer said the only way to transfer the virus was in crystalline form right?
Dr. Nicole Duncan : Yeah, that's the only way it could survive outside a living body
Jack Bauer : What if it was never outside a living body?
Dr. Nicole Duncan : What'd you mean?
Jack Bauer : What if the virus was transported inside a living host? What if Kyle Singer was infected in Mexico this morning before he even left?
Dr. Nicole Duncan : But Salazar has no leverage if Singer is walking around infecting people
Jack Bauer : That's the point. He wouldn't be contagious yet
Dr. Nicole Duncan : The incubation period is fourteen hours
Jack Bauer : Right. Think about it, we know for a fact Kyle Singer was in Mexico eleven hours ago, Hector Salazar hasn't threatened to release the virus for another three hours. The math adds up
Dr. Nicole Duncan : We need to find Kyle Singer

Sam Singer : What's going on? They don't have their suits on, what does that mean? Are we ok?
Jack Bauer : Yes, the powder was harmless
Helen Singer : Oh, thank God
Sam Singer : So you put us through all this for nothing: you scared the hell out of us
Jack Bauer : Mr. Singer, we still need to find your son, is there anything you can tell us that could help?
Sam Singer : Why? You just said the powder was harmless
Jack Bauer : We believe your son was infected with the virus earlier this morning before he came home. We have three hours to find him before he becomes contagious
Sam Singer : What're you saying? That our son could die?
Jack Bauer : Yes, that could happen
Helen Singer : Oh, God
Jack Bauer : I know how this must be difficult for you and I'm sorry but we need to find your son and we need to find him now
Sam Singer : Have you tried his cell phone?
Jack Bauer : Yes, the line's been disconnected
Helen Singer : Oh wait, he took my phone this morning
Jack Bauer : What's the number?
Helen Singer : 818-555-0103
Jack Bauer : [while taking out his cell phone to call CTU] ok, I'm going to need one of you to call him
Sam Singer : This is my fault. Kyle wouldn't have done any of this if I couldn't take care of my own family
Helen Singer : No
Sam Singer : Yes you know it's true
Jack Bauer : [Over the phone] it's Jack
Tony Almeida : I just spoke to LAPD, they got a priority APB on Singer
Jack Bauer : Ok good. I think we got a number on him
Tony Almeida : Ok we'll thread the line through a tracing matrix
Jack Bauer : Ok the number is 818-555-0103. I want you to reroute the call back to my cell phone
Tony Almeida : [to Kim] I need you to trace that number and reroute the call back to Jack's cell phone

Jack Bauer : [to Kyle's parents] I'm going to need one of you to make the call now. I need you to keep him on the line as long as possible so we can trace it
Sam Singer : What am I suppose to tell him?
Jack Bauer : The truth
Sam Singer : [Over the phone, while Jack listens and CTU traces the call] it's your father
Kyle Singer : Dad?
Sam Singer : We need to talk
Kyle Singer : Look, I don't know what you want to talk about. I know how pissed off you are ok?
Sam Singer : Whatever you did: I know you were just trying to help out your mom and me
Kyle Singer : Yeah look, unless you want to give back the stuff you took, I've got to deal with this situation ok?
Sam Singer : Please, don't hang up. Please? Listen to me, what I'm telling you is important, please, you have to come home
Kyle Singer : Why do you sound different?
Sam Singer : I need you to trust me on something I'm about to tell you

Sam Singer : I know it sounds crazy but it's real, now there are some people they're trying to help
Kyle Singer : [Surprised] cops?
Jack Bauer : Tony, you got a lock on this trace? We're going to lose this kid
Tony Almeida : [to Kim] how much longer?
Kim Bauer : I've got a cell tower but it's got a three mile radius
Kyle Singer : I can't believe this. One minute you tell me you love me, the next minute you sell me out to some cops
Sam Singer : They're not the police. They're just trying to stop this virus before it becomes an outbreak
Kyle Singer : I already told you, I feel fine alright?
Sam Singer : They're saying you're not going to feel sick for a few hours but by then it'll be too late
Jack Bauer : Tony, have you got a lock yet?
Tony Almeida : [to Kim] how much longer?
Kim Bauer : Ten seconds
Kyle Singer : What'd you want me to do? Turn myself in?
Sam Singer : Because you may be sick and if you are, then other people are going to be infected
Tony Almeida : We got it Jack. His at Los Feliz Mall between Vermont and Sunset
Jack Bauer : Ok, get his photograph to mall security tell them not to approach him
Tony Almeida : Look, your twenty minutes by car, I can land a team there in ten minutes
Jack Bauer : I don't want you taking Chase
Tony Almeida : Why not?
Jack Bauer : [Before hanging up] just don't

Dr. Nicole Duncan : I did a rotation in rehab: you tend to pick up when someone's using

Dr. Nicole Duncan : You know exactly what I'm talking about

Jack Bauer : For a while now. It was the only way I could maintain my cover with the Salazar's
Dr. Nicole Duncan : Are you high now?
Jack Bauer : [Sternly] no
Dr. Nicole Duncan : [Picking up the vile of cocaine and showing it to him] it's empty
Jack Bauer : [Snatching it from her] I told you I'm fine
Dr. Nicole Duncan : I'm not so sure
Jack Bauer : If you're not so sure then turn me in
Dr. Nicole Duncan : I don't want to turn you in. I'm worried about you
Jack Bauer : You don't have to be, I've "kicked it"
Dr. Nicole Duncan : I have a responsibility to stop this virus and I am taking a "calculated" risk, that you are more of an asset than a liability so please don't screw this up

Jack Bauer : [Answering his phone] yeah?
Tony Almeida : Security found Singer, I'm about to pick him up
Jack Bauer : Ok where are you?
Tony Almeida : Second floor rotunda. Top of the north escalator, where are you?
Tony Almeida : We're coming in the loading dock, north entrance, have you got a visual?
Tony Almeida : Yeah I got it
Jack Bauer : Where've you placed your men?
Jack Bauer : Their posted at all of the entrances
Jack Bauer : Ok good, we should be there in about a minute
