- Tony Almeida: How's Chappelle doing?
- Michelle Dessler: His still unconscious but his starting to stir
- Tony Almeida: Yeah the drug I gave him is short active: I may have to give him another shot soon
- Michelle Dessler: How long can you keep pumping him full of that stuff?
- Tony Almeida: We only have to keep "him on ice" long enough for Jack to deliver Hewitt. How we coming on the chopper?
- Michelle Dessler: It'll land on Hewitt's place in about ten minutes. We should get Hewitt back here in about half an hour
- Tony Almeida: Good
- Michelle Dessler: What about Carrie? Is she asking about Chappelle?
- Tony Almeida: No. not yet. I have her working on image processing that should keep her busy for a while
- Tony Almeida: [Over the phone] how can I help you sir?
- Brad Hammond: Where's Ryan?
- Tony Almeida: I'm not sure
- Brad Hammond: His office said he arrived at CTU three hours ago: none of your people can find him
- Tony Almeida: He must've stepped out
- Brad Hammond: Your office doesn't have him logging out. Did he say where he was going?
- Tony Almeida: Not to me sir but I'll tell you as soon as I can find him
- Brad Hammond: No Mr. Almeida, you'll let me know what's going over there. I know Ryan Chappelle was going over there to assess the situation and I cannot think of a reason that he'd be out of contact during a national crisis
- Tony Almeida: Mr. Hammond, I'm sorry. I've told you all that I know sir. I'll make sure Ryan calls you as soon as he returns
- Brad Hammond: You do that
- Tony Almeida: Thank you sir
- Jack Bauer: [Over the phone] Hewitt's been hurt: I need emergency medical assistance on the roof of his loft now
- Tony Almeida: There's no EMT on the chopper but they have a med kit on board, can you handle it?
- Jack Bauer: I don't know. I've got to get back to this
- Jack Bauer: Wait a second
- Jack Bauer: What?
- Tony Almeida: You may not be able to contact me after this
- Jack Bauer: Why?
- Tony Almeida: Chappelle became a problem so I had to take him out of play and their onto me now so it's only a matter of time before they take me out
- Jack Bauer: Who do I contact if I need help?
- Tony Almeida: I'm sending Michelle out to the field to set up an off site station. She's going to do whatever she can by remote access, she'll be on a closed cell, channel B NOV 12-12
- Jack Bauer: Channel B NOV 12-12. Ok I got it
- President David Palmer: How'd you find out about me?
- Brian Jacobs: The Attorney General called me: he assumed you'd want me for your counsel
- President David Palmer: What've they told you?
- Brian Jacobs: That you've been removed from Office by the Cabinet, by the capacity clause of the twenty-fifth Amendment
- President David Palmer: Is what they did legal?
- Brian Jacobs: Technically, yes. The Constitution gives the Cabinet to declare the President incompetent. No further definition. No further clarification
- President David Palmer: That also gives me the right to appeal that decision
- Brian Jacobs: Yes, which I will do vigorously. Unfortunately, it's length process
- President David Palmer: We don't have time
- Brian Jacobs: I don't know how to make it faster, Sir
- President David Palmer: None of those legalities matter. This country is about to go to war based on evidence and now I am convinced is false
- Brian Jacobs: Except no one outside this room believes that
- President David Palmer: This evidence was manipulated by a man named Peter Kingsley. I need you to find out everything you can about him
- Brian Jacobs: You have to understand, Mike Novick is tying my hands
- President David Palmer: Well, get him to untie them. Whatever you have to do
- Michelle Dessler: [Over the phone inside a van] it's me: I'm in place
- Tony Almeida: Where are you?
- Michelle Dessler: I'm in the north lot. Listen, Carrie's onto us. She was asking about Chappelle
- Tony Almeida: What'd you tell her?
- Michelle Dessler: That I didn't know what she was talking about. But we need her out of the way. Keep her occupied
- Tony Almeida: Ok, I'll handle it. Set up and get a hold of Jack, I've got to go. Hammond's here
- Tony Almeida: [Shaking hands] Mr. Hammond
- Brad Hammond: [Greeting him] Tony
- Tony Almeida: What are you doing here sir?
- Brad Hammond: I told you on the phone. I think there's a problem here, where is Ryan Chappelle?
- Tony Almeida: I haven't seen him yet sir
- Brad Hammond: I see
- Mike Novick: How is he?
- Brian Jacobs: David's remained convinced that his decision to delay the bombing was the correct one and he'll vigorously appeal his removal from Office
- Mike Novick: The twenty-fifth Amendment gives him that right
- Brian Jacobs: Central to his appeal will be proving that we're being manipulated into this war and the Cypress recording was falsified. Plus, we know by now who
- Mike Novick: I'm listening
- Brian Jacobs: A man named Peter Kingsley: his got ties to oil interests here and abroad
- Mike Novick: Have you found anything that connects him to the recording or the bomb for that matter?
- Brian Jacobs: No, we won't be able to without access to the intelligence database
- Mike Novick: David's locked down until we've gone public with the military actions
- Brian Jacobs: By then it'll be too late
- Mike Novick: [while walking away] I'm sorry
- Brian Jacobs: Wait, hold on a second. I remember when you signed up for David's first run at the Senate over twenty years ago. That's a lot of history just to throw out the window. Come on, I know you did what you thought was right but let him prove his case. You owe him that
- Mike Novick: I'll have a colleague set up a computer station for you. You won't be able to transfer out going messages
- Brian Jacobs: That's fair enough
- President David Palmer: Yeah?
- Mike Novick: I need to speak with you: it concerns national security
- President David Palmer: As I'm not the Commander in Chief anymore, I don't see how that would be relevant
- Mike Novick: We have a problem with the Turkish government, our stealth bombers are nearing their airspace, and unfortunately one of their fighters spotted us a few minutes ago
- President David Palmer: So ask the Prime Minister for the fly over, he should agree
- Mike Novick: The Secretary of State has spoken to him. He said he would grant us this on one condition
- President David Palmer: What's the condition?
- Mike Novick: He wants a personal request and assurances from the President
- President David Palmer: The Prime Minister hasn't been told I've been removed from Office
- Mike Novick: That couldn't happen, not before the American people know
- President David Palmer: [Sarcastically] now that wouldn't be right now would it?
- Mike Novick: Now that the bombers have been spotted, it's more critical than ever they get to their targets quickly. Any detour would take them over unfriendly skies
- President David Palmer: You want me to speak to the Prime Minister under the pretense that I'm still the President?
- Mike Novick: Yes. This mission is going to continue regardless Sir, this phone call no matter how distasteful for you, could prevent those planes from being attacked. We only have minutes Sir
- Sherry Palmer: [while Hewitt's loft] why did you leave me like this? I've been stabbed
- Jack Bauer: Let me look at it
- Jack Bauer: [after examining her wound] you're lucky, the wound's superficial. The bleeding's already stopped. I'll get you a clean bandage for it
- Sherry Palmer: Where's Alex?
- Jack Bauer: He fell, his dead
- Sherry Palmer: Oh my God. What happens now?
- Jack Bauer: You're going to help me
- Sherry Palmer: Help you do what?
- Sherry Palmer: We got one last play: deliver Kingsley
- Sherry Palmer: No, his far too dangerous and you'll never get close to him
- Jack Bauer: You're right. I won't but you will. Kingsley doesn't know Hewitt's been killed. You tell him you can deliver him that should get his attention
- Sherry Palmer: No, Kingsley has evidence that will implicate me, there's no way I'm going to do this
- Sherry Palmer: I really don't think I can do this
- Jack Bauer: You'll be fine: just tell him everything I told you to say
- Jack Bauer: [while she dials the number] make the call
- Peter Kingsley: [Answering the phone] yes?
- Sherry Palmer: It's Sherry Palmer, Peter
- Peter Kingsley: Are we on a secure line?
- Sherry Palmer: Of course we are. I want the tapes that you made of our conversation. I want the original DATS
- Peter Kingsley: And why would I agree to give you those?
- Sherry Palmer: Because I'll give you Alex Hewitt in return
- Peter Kingsley: You found Hewitt?
- Sherry Palmer: That's right
- Peter Kingsley: Where is he?
- Sherry Palmer: Don't insult my intelligence. Agree to the exchange, and then you can do whatever you want with him
- Peter Kingsley: I want to talk to him
- Sherry Palmer: You'll have to hold on, my body guard has him restrained in the next room
- Sherry Palmer: [while Jack plays an audio recording of Hewitt] alright Alex, you can talk
- Alex Hewitt: "Mr. Kingsley, it's not what you think, they came in here with guns and threatened to kill me. I didn't tell them anything about you, I swear"
- Peter Kingsley: Who's been there? Who have you told about this?
- Sherry Palmer: [after she cut off the line] Alright do we have a deal or not?
- Peter Kingsley: Not until I know what's going on there. Give me Alex back
- Sherry Palmer: I'm not going to keep this call going so you can trace it. is it yes or no?
- Peter Kingsley: Look, this is an ultimatum. Put Alex back on or this conversation is ended
- Sherry Palmer: You force my hand and I'll make sure Alex Hewitt tells his story to as many people as possible
- Peter Kingsley: This is your final chance
- Sherry Palmer: Then it's goodbye Peter
- Peter Kingsley: [after thinking it over] fine, let's do this
- Sherry Palmer: Neutral ground
- Peter Kingsley: Alright. LA coliseum. Thirty minutes, just you and Alex
- Mike Novick: [Referring to speaking to the Prime Minister of Turkey in the context that he wasn't removed from Office] David, thank you. I know how difficult it must have been for you
- President David Palmer: How much longer is Prescott going to keep me here?
- Mike Novick: Until after the press conference. I've requested your release sooner but there's only so much I can do. I spoke to Brian: he requested some low security access on your behalf. I want you to know I granted it
- Michelle Dessler: [while in a holding room] what'd you think they'll charge us with?
- Tony Almeida: They can push for treason if they wanted to
- Michelle Dessler: [Surprised] you think they will?
- Tony Almeida: Depends how big of a example they want to make of us. Look, no one can prove that you knew about what I was going to do to Chappelle. I'm just going to tell them you were helping Jack under my orders, alright?
- Michelle Dessler: No
- Tony Almeida: What'd you mean no?
- Michelle Dessler: I did what I thought was right. I still believe that and I won't let you lie for me
- Michelle Dessler: [Over the phone] I've connected to Hewitt's computer. I just need you to press the Esc key and I can take control
- Jack Bauer: Done
- Michelle Dessler: What did Hewitt tell you?
- Jack Bauer: He told me he invented a program that can recreate anybody's voice: as long as he had a sample of that voice, he could get it to say anything he wanted. He told me he kept all of the audio files in the main file
- Michelle Dessler: Alright I think I found it. I've never seen anything like this before, all the samples are connected through an integrator
- Jack Bauer: Ok all I need is anything with Hewitt's voice on it
- Jack Bauer: My heart stopped when Kingsley's men were interrogating me
- Sherry Palmer: Your heart could be damaged, you need to get to a doctor
- Jack Bauer: We need to get Kingsley first. You are going to help me, you don't have any other choice
- Sherry Palmer: You wouldn't dare hurt me
- Jack Bauer: Make no mistake about it. I will do whatever I have to
- Sherry Palmer: What do you want me to do with Kingsley?
- Jack Bauer: I want you to tell him you'll exchange Hewitt for any evidence that incriminates you
- Sherry Palmer: He'll want proof that I have Hewit
- Jack Bauer: He'll get it
- Peter Kingsley: [Over the phone] at this point, we can "assume" the chip containing the source recording has not landed in government hands
- Max: Did you intercept the federal agent who was in possession of the chip?
- Peter Kingsley: No: if the bombers are still on course we can assume he hasn't delivered it to the President
- Max: That leaves Hewitt as the last remaining "loose end." Where are we on finding him?
- Peter Kingsley: I have several teams out looking for him
- Max: He cannot be allowed to talk. Not now, not ever
- Peter Kingsley: Hewitt will be found, and he'll be eliminated
- Max: [Before hanging up] clean this up
