Dale is the blood son of Earl Malloy and his wife. Wayne was abandoned as a child and raised by the Malloy family. That is why he has the same last name as Dale and why he is able to take over the family instead of Dale. Dahlia called him a "Half Breed" in an earlier episode and when he was getting drunk with Hugh in the sauna, he tells him he was raised by "Bandits."

The first one is 'You only think you know me' and the second one is 'What's yours is mine'

"A Story That Could be True" by William Stafford

...They miss the whisper that runs any day in your mind, "Who are you really, wanderer?"-- and the answer you have to give no matter how dark and cold the world around you is: "Maybe I'm a king."

The Travellers use a variety of terminology. In addition to slang, some of the vocabulary is taken from Shelta (also known as "the Cant"), which is sometimes used as a code by Travellers.

*Buffer: An ordinary person, a non-Traveller. Possibly a corruption of "buffoon", i.e., a potential mark.

*Half Breed: A Traveller not born into the clan, but associated through, for example, marriage or one of two parents.

*Kale: Money.

*Koosh: Money or other valuables, particularly ones the Travellers can steal.

*Skaal Krush: Pertaining to the end of the con. Krush means "clear out; run away" in Shelta.

On the pilot episode the opening credits song is 'How We Operate" by Gomez
