A Note Regarding Spoilers

The following FAQ entries may contain spoilers. Only the biggest ones (if any) will be covered with spoiler tags. Spoiler tags have been used sparingly in order to make the page more readable.

For detailed information about the amounts and types of (a) sex and nudity, (b) violence and gore, (c) profanity, (d) alcohol, drugs, and smoking, and (e) frightening and intense scenes in this movie, consult the IMDb Parents Guide for this movie. The Parents Guide for Fanboys can be found here.

No. Fanboys is based on a screenplay by writers Ernest Cline, Dan Pulick, and Adam F. Goldberg.

Kyle Newman has been reported as saying that he is planning on making a sequel, and it would involve the group crashing the set of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. There have also been fan reactions as to having the sequel be the same premise as Fanboys, but involving another group of friends trying to steal a copy of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

It's a reference to the movie The Thing (1982). There is a character with the same name in that film who constantly wears sunglasses, inside or out, day or night. The character gets the nickname in this film because he wears large thick glasses. (also possibly because he's always on his laptop, his nickname refers to the operating system).
